Updating the RAID firmware on IntelIntel-based products 1. When directed by Mazu Support, please download the latest RAID firmware update from the Intel website: • http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2451 • For Operating System, select All Operating Systems • Click on the firmware link under Download Types • Look for Intel Intelligent RAID (Hardware) Firmware Flash Update • Download the zip file and follow the instructions from the Intel site to burn the file to a CD 2. Boot the Intel Profiler into the Mazu OS 3. Once the unit has booted and the UI is accessible, insert the CD into the server 4. Log in as root at the command line 5. Type the following on the command line interface, pressing Enter after each command listed in bold below NOTE: x’s are wild cards and are to be replaced with the version information of the files on the CD • mount /media/cdrom1 • cd /media/cdrom1/linux • rpm –i CmdTool2-xxxxx.i386.rpm (after typing Cmd, press the Tab key to auto-complete) • cd .. • cp sasfwxxx.rom /opt/MegaRAID/CmdTool2 • cd /opt/MegaRAID/CmdTool2 • umount /media/cdrom1 • eject (ejects the CD) • ./CmdTool2 -AdpFwFlash -f sasfwxxx.rom –aall (after typing sas, press the Tab key to auto-complete) 6. The update will run. You will see the message Adapter 0: Update Successful when it is finished. NOTE: If the existing RAID firmware version is the same or greater than the one contained in sasfwxxx.rom the update will not run. 7. When finished, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot the server

8. As the server is booting back up, repeatedly press Ctrl + G in order to boot to the RAID bios 9. When the model number of the Intel RAID Controller appears, click Start to enter the RAID bios 10. Click on Adapter Properties 11. Once verified, click on Home and then Exit 12. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot the server
