General description: The Triax TRE 270 T/R system is a cable based IR Extender System that allows you to control your audio or video source from another room using your existing IR remote controller(s). Several separate units can be controlled individually. The TRE 270 T/R System consists of an TRE 270 T (Receiver) you place and connect to the coax cabling in another room from where you want to control your A/V equipment in the living room. It will pick up the IR signals from your remote control(s), and convert the IR signal into a signal that is transmitted via the coax cabling in your house, back to the living room. In the living room the TRE 270 R (Re-emitter) is connected to the coax cabling, and its remote-eye will then re-emit, or transmit, the IR signals to your equipment, as if you were doing it directly with the remote control. As long as the IR-receiver-eye and the IR re-emitter-eye has free view in the rooms, any number of remote controls and equipment can be used, just as you would do when you control the A/V equipment directly in the living room.

NOTE: The TRE 270 T/R converts the 38 kHz IR signals from the remote control(s) into an 11 MHz signal, that can be transmitted over the coax cabling in your house. It is important to note that for this to work there must be no obstructions in the coax cable signal path between the two ends, such as amplifiers and/or outlet sockets with blocking filters in the 11 kHz range. TRE 270 T/R only transmits IR signals. The A/V signals (picture and sound) has to be ‘transferred’ by other means such as cables, modulated signals or via wireless units.
