Products for maintenance: Lubricants and adhesives Given the difficulties faced for shipping some products needed for maintenance on TG equipment due to their chemical characteristics, an operation was conducted to find commercial products with the same properties that can be found directly in each country without needing to order them from Technogym. The new lubricating products identified are indicated in the file “Direction for use: Adhesives and Lubricants” which you can find in the accessories section of iSP (exploded-view drawings distribution platform) are all produced by KLUBER and can be found anywhere.
Products for equipment cleaning We would like to remind and emphasise once again that to clean Technogym equipment we recommend using water or at the very most neutral soap. Do not use chemical products and in any case any product containing: caustic soda, sodium metasilicate and butoxyethanol as they can damage the paint used, altering the colour and surface finish.

• ARTIS RECYCLE SW UPDATE UNITY, U-TV, U-GO: It is important to enter the SN
ARTIS RECYCLE SW UPDATE As already mentioned in the 2013/007 News Flash, we would like to remind you that to correctly carry out and complete the SW update for ARTIS RECYCLE equipment (Selfpowered), you must pedal during the entire upload time at a speed of 50-70 RPM or 80-100 SPM so that the equipment does not switch off due to a flat battery.
In order to get around the need to pedal during the entire update you can use an external power supply which should be connected to the display to keep it powered continuously. Below is the correct procedure to update all the RECYCLE equipment. Procure the following components: -
0WR00755AA: Power supply (ref.1) NOTE: This is the auxiliary power supply used on Run and Run NOW with VISIOWEB. 0WCU0418AB: power supply-ARTIS display CPU connection cable (ref.2). Power supply cable for power supply (specific by country) (ref.3).
A R T I S
L i n e
WE RECTIFY, on the other hand, that from SW version 3.12.155 for U-TV models and for all the versions on U-GO, even if the update is interrupted due to the equipment switching off, the SW on the CPU IS NOT IRREPARABLY DAMAGED but the previous SW is automatically restored.
Proceed as follows: 1. Remove the rear cover of the display and disconnect the display power supply cable coming from the low kit. 2. Connect the cable 0WCU0418AB (ref.2) to the power supply 0WR00755AA (ref.1). Connect the power supply to an operational electrical socket using a normal power supply cable (ref.3). 3. Connect the cable 0WCU0418AB to the CPU. WARNING: a communication error will appear on the display. Ignore the error and enter the specific menu to update the SW. 4. Carry out the update as described in the detailed procedure in the service manual without disconnecting the power supply. 5. At the end of the update reconnect the equipment cabling and close the rear display guard. 6. Ensure correct operation of the equipment. page 1 Copyright® Technogym – all rights reserved – reproduction prohibited

UNITY, U-TV, U-GO: It is important to enter the SN
A R T I S
L i n e
We would like to emphasise once again the importance of correctly entering the SN of the equipment when replacing the entire display assembly. In particular remember that, in the event that the equipment is connected to a network, the SN allows the connected equipment to be identified by remote applications (Asset, Communicator etc.). Moreover, if the SN is not entered and the generic factory setting “SERIAL_NUMBER” remains, each time the equipment is started all the settings relative to the TV function such as the channel list will be reset.

2014/01 • Power supply interruption problem RUN ARTIS: Important positioning notes • RUN ARTIS: Treadmill cleaning notes
Power supply interruption problem We have ascertained that in most cases where a problem is reported due to a temporary loss of power or switching off of the equipment during exercising, the problem is primarily due to the disconnection of the power supply cable from the socket in the power input box where the on switch is located.
A R T I S
L i n e
In order to avoid generating these problems and consequently having to manage service calls, it is important that both during the installation phase and during any technical operation, the power supply cable is appropriately connected and secured to the machine with a cable tie as illustrated in the photo below.
It should be noted that correct securing must be carried out leaving a bit of extra cable between the socket on the power intake box and the cable tie so that there is a bit of margin in the event of tugging, preventing this from affecting the socket immediately.
RUN ARTIS: Important positioning notes To prevent the treadmills from shifting from their position during operation, moving them out of alignment and requiring repositioning, it is very important to check: 1. the level placement of the equipment, correctly levelling the rear feet; 2. careful cleaning of the bottom part of the feet and the floor with water and alcohol in order to ensure the best grip conditions for the foot on the floor. Obviously we recommend checking and proceeding as specified above, both during installation and after maintenance operations.

RUN ARTIS: Treadmill cleaning notes As regards various reports that we have received concerning early deterioration of the treadmill belt, it was ascertained that in many cases the signs pointed out by the customer as effects of wear were actually due only to the various users dragging their shoes, especially when positioned on the side platforms with the treadmill still in motion.
A R T I S
L i n e
The solution to this report is in most cases a simple cleaning of the treadmill using a wet sponge with water and neutral soap. Clean before proceeding with replacement of the belt.

U-GO Strength: SW update problem
U-GO Strength: SW update problem Please note a possible problem that could occur when attempting to update a U-GO device on ARTIS STRENGTH equipment using the Equipment Software Loader 2. First of all remember that in order to update a U-GO device on ARTIS STRENGTH you must use a version of Equipment Software Loader 2 equal to 1.1.0.0 or newer with DB version 2.3 or newer.
This problem can be resolved by installing the DFuse driver before beginning the update procedure. This driver allows communication between the PC and the U-GO device. You can find the setup file downloadable on TG Direct in the same section where you can download the Equipment Software Loader 2 setup and DB.
A R T I S
L i n e
The problem that occurs once the device is connected to the PC and the SW update command is launched, is a “device not found” error (see photo below).
The operation is required if you use a PC with OS up to and including Windows 7. If the problem persists after installing DFuse it may be necessary to update the USB device detection drivers from the control panel (Control panel Device manager USB controllers).

Front weight stack guard breakage
S e l e c t i o n
L i n e
To resolve the problem in question and to limit the cases of front weight stack guard breakage due primarily to the projections in which the screws to fix it to the frame giving way, the material used for production of the guard was changed. The new material has a much higher resistance to withstand stress and above all its mechanical resistance characteristics have been altered with much slower flexibility even in less than ideal environmental conditions (strong temperature shifts, prolonged exposure to sunlight, high humidity). The codes relative to the new parts are shown in the exploded view drawings of the equipment.
Multipower: Difficulty hooking the barbell To improve the coupling and fixing of the hook plates (ref.5) on the barbell so that they do not revolve around themselves while hooking them on the frame pins with relative danger to the user, a few modifications were made to the involved parts. In particular:
1. The barbell (ref. 8) was modified with grooving on the area where the hooks are mounted in order to increase the friction between the two parts. The code for the new barbell, entirely interchangeable with the previous one, is 0P000269AB. 2. The grub screws (ref. 12) used on the hook plates which pressed on the barbell have been eliminated. The SN of the first piece of equipment manufactured with this solution is M95313100399.
