HANDSET BATTERY CAUTIONS The handset contains a Lithium cell. There is a risk of fire and burns if the battery is handled improperly. The battery is pre-fitted. Eventually you will need to replace the battery, To do so follow the procedure as shown in the drawing. When handling or replacing the battery refer to the Cautions on Page 2. 1. Press the catch inward 2. Slide the battery tray out 3. Insert a CR 2025 battery as shown 4. Close the tray. 2 3 1 CR2025 2 PRELIMINARIES UNPACKING The contents of the USB card will now display as a slide show. (See below) The carton contains: The picture frame: remote handset: power adaptor. If no USB card is loaded the contents of the SD card will display first. If no drives are loaded pictures stored on the internal memory will display. If you load a card with no data or unreadable data: the screen will display six blank frames. The slide show will not start as there is nothing to display. Note: Only jpgs and readable picture files will be displayed . If you load a disc with mixed media the other files will not be visible. Unpack all the components carefully. Inspect the components carefully. If any item is damaged or missing, contact the Tesco store from where you purchased this product, or if that is not possible, your nearest Tesco store. Please have your receipt ready when you call. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so in accordance with recycling regulations in your area. Retain the User Handbook. If you pass the unit on to a third party make sure you pass on the handbook. The length of time loading takes will depend on the amount of data on the card. OPERATION SLIDE SHOW MODE The Picture Frame has two card input sockets: Slide show mode is the default mode. In slide show mode all the pictures on the card will display one by one in sequence. In this mode you cannot rotate or zoom pictures or change the viewing order. (You can set up your slide show in the System menu - see Page 6) The Card Slot will accept a SD, MMC, XD card or Memory Stick. To insert a card: Insert the card fully with the connectors facing the back. The USB socket accepts a standard USB flash drive of specification 1.1 or 2.0. To pause the slide show: Press the ENTER key on the handset. Press the ENTER key again to resume. Plug a USB drive and/or a Memory card into the Picture Frame. Stand the picture frame on a stable level surface where it is unlikely to fall or get knocked over. $ Unwrap the DC connecting cord. $ Plug the DC adaptor into the 12V DC input of the Picture Frame. $ Plug the adaptor into a mains point and switch on at the mains point. $ Press the POWER key on the Frame or the handset to switch on. The welcome screen will load first. The Frame will then detect the Card type/s and load the data on the card/s. $ $ CHANGING THE CARD TYPE • Press the PHOTO key on the handset. The frame will go to thumbnail mode. • Press the CARD key on the handset to view pictures on other cards or the internal memory of the frame These logos appear at the left of the screen USB 1 SD/MMC Memory The display will briefly display the first six pictures from each memory source in the following order: NOTE: All procedures in this manual relate to handset commands. Although many handset functions are replicated on the Frame top panel, they are less easy to operate and important functions such as Card select are available only on the handset. INTERNAL MEMORY SD, MMC, XD CARD USB DRIVE 3 VIEWING PICTURE FILES From Slide Show mode: $ Press ENTER to pause the Slide Show. Although you can omit this step, we suggest you pause the slide show if you are viewing very large files. $ Press the PHOTO key on the handset To move to the next picture: Press the NEXT key once To move on several pictures: Press NEXT repeatedly. To move to the previous picture: Press the PREV. key once To move back several pictures: Press PREV the required no. of times. 1/27 3008X2000 DSC_OOO1_JPG NOTE: When you use the NEXT/PREV keys to move between pictures, the next picture will have to load. The amount of loading time depends on the size of the picture - large resolution pictures take longer to load. ROTATING A PICTURE Press the ROTATE key to rotate the picture: Press ONCE to rotate 90º to the right Press TWICE to rotate the picture 180º Press THREE TIMES to rotate the picture 270º Press again to restore the picture to normal view SD/MMC Rotate is available in Normal and Zoom view. COPYING A PICTURE The Frame will go into Thumbnail mode. The picture you were last viewing will be highlighted along with the title and relevant size information. The Figure 1/27 at the top right of the screen indicates that the current set of six thumbnails is the first of 27 viewable sets. To select the next picture: Press the NEXT key Toselect the previous picture: Press the PREV. key DSC_OOO1_JPG You can copy a picture from a SD/MMC card or USB drive to the internal frame memory. Select the picture with the This dialogue appears: Are you sure? Yes No If you do not wish to copy the file: Select No, press ENTER Pressing EXIT will also return you to the Setup Menu without copying the file. Now press the SETUP key to return to thumbnail mode If you do nothing: after a few seconds the player reverts to thumbnail mode without copying the file. 200% and back to 100% PAN: In ZOOM mode Press the Copy File NAND To copy the file: Select Yes; press ENTER The file is copied and the player returns to thumbnail mode. To increase the picture size on the screen, press the FAVOUR ZOOM key . 150% keys Press COPY on the handset. Press the ENTER key ZOOM AND PAN 133% SD/MMC From Thumbnail Mode: To move down to the next row of thumbnails: Press the DOWN key To move up to the previous row of thumbnails: Press the UP key To select and view the current picture: Press the ENTER key. The picture increases 100% 1/27 3008X2000 keys to move the picture up, down and sideways. You must reset the Zoom to 100% before you can view other pictures 4 DELETING A PICTURE SETTING A FAVORITE PICTURE - 1 From Thumbnail Mode: Select the picture with the DSC_OOO1_JPG The Set Favorite setting can be used in two ways 1/27 3008X2000 1: To set a single picture for continuous display keys 2: To select a group of pictures to form a customised slide show Press DELETE on the handset SD/MMC From Thumbnail Mode: Select a picture with the This dialogue appears: Delete File To delete the file: Select Yes; press ENTER DSC_OOO1_JPG 1/27 3008X2000 DSC_OOO1_JPG 1/27 3008X2000 keys Are you sure? Yes No SD/MMC The file is deleted and the player returns to thumbnail mode. NOTE: the file will be permanently deleted. There is no “undelete”! Press the FAVOUR/ZOOM key If you do not wish to delete the file: Select No, press ENTER Pressing EXIT will also return you to the Setup Menu without deleting the file. Now press the SETUP key to return to thumbnail mode If you do nothing: after a few seconds the player reverts to thumbnail mode without deleting the file. The picture will be ‘ticked’ With the keys navigate to another picture Press the FAVOUR/ZOOM key The picture will be ‘ticked’ Continue this process until your selection is complete. Press SLIDE to enter SLIDESHOW mode. SD/MMC Only the selected images will display To deselect a favorite image Reselect the picture from Thumbnail mode Press the FAVOUR/ZOOM key. The picture will be ‘unticked’ NOTES: All the pictures will still be accessible and can be selected individually The Favorite image setting will not be retained if you switch the frame off or change cards. 5 THE SETUP MENU SETTING UP THE SLIDE SHOW Highlight Slide Show Setting. Press ENTER With the keys select Slide Show Effect Slide Show Speed Slide Shuffle Press ENTER to access the sub-menu You can access the Setup Menu only from Thumbnail Mode The Setup menu enables you to set up the player to your personal preference. From Thumbnail Mode: Press the SETUP key on the handset. The Setup menu will display. Scroll the menu items with the keys The highlight will change with each press When you have selected the required menu item: Press ENTER to access and change the parameters. When you have finished: Press EXIT or SETUP to leave the Setup Menu Photo Full Screen Slide Show Setting Copy File Delete File Format Memory Set Favorite Reset Settings Brightness/Contrast Color/Tint SLIDE SHOW EFFECT Select Slide Show Effect With the keys: Select the effect you want. Press ENTER to confirm and return PHOTO FULL SCREEN Because most digital cameras use an aspect ratio different from the Frame you may see black bars at the sides of some pictures. Photo Full Screen mode lets you to expand the image to full screen. Some top/bottom cropping may occur. A widescreen image may also have the image parameters reset to 4:3 when you use this mode. Enter the Setup menu. Highlight Photo Full Screen. Press ENTER Select On or Off with the keys Press ENTER to confirm the setting This will return you to the Setup Menu To exit the Setup Menu: Press the EXIT or SETUP keys. Slide Show Shuffle Press ENTER to confirm and return On Off Slide Show Effect Slide Show Speed Slide Show Shuffle Off Fade Shutter Cross Comb Mask Brick Dissolve Silk Random Fast Normal Slow SLIDE SHOW SHUFFLE You can display the slides as they are on the data drive or randomly (shuffle) Select Slide Show Shuffle On With the keys: Slide Show Effect Off Slide Show Speed Select On or Off Slide Show Shuffle Press ENTER to confirm and return Press EXIT to return to the Settings Menu Press EXIT or SETUP to leave the Setup menu. 6 OTHER SETUP MENU ITEMS COPYING AND DELETING FILES Highlight Copy File or Delete File Press ENTER Follow the instructions for Copying or Deleting files on the previous pages FORMAT MEMORY This function formats the internal memory of the frame. You cannot format an inserted flash card or USB drive with this setting. Warning: Formatting a disk will erase all data permanently. Press the EXIT or SETUP keys to return to to the Setup menu Press these keys again to exit the menu. 7 FURTHER SETUP MENU ITEMS RESTORING FACTORY DEFAULTS ALTERING THE COLOUR AND TINT This action overrides all user settings and restores the frame Photo Full Screen to the settings it had when it left the factory. Copying very large picture files reduces the number of images you can display without improving image quality. Switch the set off via the POWER switch. Unplug the adaptor from the mains supply and then unplug the adaptor from the Picture Frame. Unplug any connected memory card or USB stick. Store the unit and the power adaptor in a cool dry place, out of the reach of children and pets. This corresponds to a total resolution of 786,500 pixels (0.79MP). Playing very high resolution pictures through the screen will slow loading times without improving viewability. Formats, Files and Folders This unit recognises JPG format pictures. If there are other files on the disc these will not be recognised. If the pictures are organised in folders, the folder structure will not be recognised but all the JPG format pictures will be recognised and played. Extended Use Heat: After extended use, the frame may get warm. This is normal and not a cause for concern. Screen Burn: Contrary to popular belief, if you leave a static picture on the screen for a long time you may leave a permanent ‘after image’ on the screen. The Slide show mode stops this from occurring. IMPORTANT NOTE: Care and Cleaning Care and cleaning operations should be carried out with the unit unplugged from the mains. The plastic and metal parts can be cleaned with a barely damp cloth and then dried carefully. Do NOT touch the screen with bare fingers, or with hard or pointed objects. Clean the screen carefully with a specially treated cloth, such as a Calotherm cloth available from chamists and opticians. Warranty Your Technika appliance is covered by a warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase. If a fault develops during this period, please contact the TESCO electrical help line on 0845 456 6767. Please have your original purchase receipt with you when you call. This warranty in no way affects your consumer rights. Many pictures will not be viewable over the full screen. Because some digital cameras use an aspect ratio which may differ from the Picture Frame aspect ratio of 4:3, black bars may appear at the sides of your pictures - this is normal and not a fault.
