GTK-001: Mini Kiosk with Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, PoE, 2D Scanner TM Technology Explanation: KNOX Integration in the LAVA Tab 4 Mini Kiosk BACKGROUND: WHAT KNOX IS AND WHAT IT DOES Samsung s KNOX program is a large ecosystem of control and security APIs for Samsung s Android-based phones and tablets. Samsung s Enterprise Alliance Partners are licensed to use this suite of Samsung-endorsed functions and features, gaining root-like access to the Samsung devices capabilities, while remaining inside security, technology, and warranty constraints. In the case of the LAVA Mini Kiosk for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, KNOX permits speci c and powerful control of the kiosk s high-grade 2D scanning engine, the Code Reader 8000. This camera is fully integrated at both the hardware and software levels to the LAVA interface electronics that are central to the operation of the kiosk. LAVAs Mini Kiosk for the Samsung Tab 4 focuses on two parts of the KNOX system to create its seamless operation: Hardware Management and App Management.
