TELEPHONE-KIT USER GUIDE The telephone kit connects a fixed landline telephone directly to the Conversor Pro. The Conversor Pro amplifies the sound from the telephone when it is connected to the Conversor Pro. Speak normally through the telephone handset. Installation guide Place the Conversor Pro next to the telephone. The telephone kit includes 3 different cables. The splitter cable (which has two telephone handset sockets and a telephone handset plug) which is plugged into the telephone handset socket; and two cables which have a telephone handset plug at one end and a 3.5mm jack plug at the other end. The coiled handset cord plugs into one of the two sockets on the splitter cable. The other two cables, nearly identical, are marked with a cable marker numbered 1 and 2. There are a number of different connections used for telephone handsets so you need to see which one works best for you. Try which one of the cables, #1 or #2, offers the best sound quality. Step-by-step instruction – 1) Switch on the Conversor Pro and connect to your hearing aid or headphones as per the Conversor Pro User’s Manual. 2) Disconnect the coiled handset cord from the telephone base. To disconnect the cord squeeze the small clip towards the body of the connector plug before pulling the plug gently out of the socket. 3) Connect the splitter cable plug into the handset socket on the telephone from where the coiled handset cord was just removed. A “click” should be heard when the cable is connected properly. 4) Connect the coiled cord from the handset into either one of the two sockets on the splitter cable. 5) Plug the handset jack plug end of cable #1 in the free socket on the splitter cable and the Jack plug into the jack socket on the Conversor Pro transmitter. 6) Lift the handset and adjust the volume on Conversor Pro to a comfortable level. 7) Redo steps 5 and 6 again but replace cable #1 with cable #2. Compare and use the cable which gives the best sound quality. Conversor Pro is now ready to use with your telephone. You talk in the handset as normal but listen using your hearing aid or headphones. Troubleshooting when Conversor Pro is not amplifying the call a) Make sure all cables are attached properly to the telephone and the base unit. b) Make sure that your hearing aid is switched to the T programme or telecoil mode. c) Make sure that the head/earphones are connected to Conversor Pro if you are not using a hearing aid. d) Make sure that the volume is correctly adjusted.
