Tips and Tricks 1. When using outside the Polycom network over the public internet limit call rates to between 384k and 512k unless you can guarantee higher call speeds through fiber or similar business class connections. 2. Never sit with your back to a window. Backlighting causes the camera iris to close and make your image dark and unrecognizable. 3. Use only approved USB cameras unless you are using ones embedded inside the laptop frame. 4. Open a conservative number of additional programs while running the Telepresence m100 if your computer does not meet the minimum requirements

FAQ Q: Can I install the Telepresence m100 on a computer that has Polycom CMA Desktop installed? A: Yes, but if the CMAD is running you will need to quit the application during the Telepresence m100 install. Q: Can I have both the CMA Desktop and the Telepresence m100 running at the same time on the same computer? A: No. Q: Can I use the Telepresence m100 over Polycom’s VPN? A: Yes. We will support a Juniper VPN solution but it is not required for call connection into the organization. The client operates much like a physical hardware codec dialing from the public internet. Q: During the install I saw an opportunity to use SIP, should I have a SIP address? A: In the shipping product SIP registration will be supported but today we do not have the SIP server running for the non-development user. Q: I saw in the install an opportunity to register to the CMA’s Gatekeeper, should I register? A: You may manually point the client to the Polycom corporate Gatekeeper if you wish to participate in the corporate dial plan. The GK address is 172.18.104.31 Q: Can I dial into meeting rooms or endpoints within Polycom from outside the network without a VPN? A: Yes. If you are not on the VPN and wish to call into Polycom use the appropriate VBP with the two-pound symbols and the e.164.
Q: Can I give the ALPHA client to a friend or family member? A: Due to the stage of development I would not recommend it at this time. We DO expect to have a BETA-level code offering for Friends and Family around the late-May time frame. Ad-hoc Dial: 140.242.214.12##E.164 Extension Q: I cant seem to get two-way both audio and video, what can I do? A: If you are outside the Polycom network you are likely experiencing a firewall blocking one or more call signaling, audio and or video. Firewall traversal is beyond the scope of this document at this time. Marty Sexton will be glad to try and assist you until at such time we have an official guide from Polycom. Q: Each time I start the application I am asked to activate or buy, can I make that not show? A: The purpose of the activate key is to prompt users to purchase the client. For our internal use please select the activate button and enter the code below. During our GTM and product delivery the user will receive a unique software activation key for each license.
License: XPVX-PLCM-PLCM
Key Code: X2AA-4174-A470-0000-1388 The key can and will change without notice due to the nature of the development but your client should stay activated for the length of the trial. Q: Does Polycom IT support this internal Marketing Trial? A: No. If you have troubles please reach out to each other and myself, Marty Q: If I find bugs in the SW how should I report them? A: Please send me your user feedback and quality issues. I will forward them into the development team for consideration and follow up.
