This item shall govern the purchase and installation of a insulation displacement to insulation displacement plug terminal block (TBIDC) equivalent to the Wavetronix insulation displacement to insulation displacement plug terminal block. 2 .0 Product Description. The TBIDC shall be an electrical connector with an insulation displacement base connector to an insulation displacement plug connector. 3.0 Physical. The TBIDC shall not exceed 0.2 in. x 2.1 in. x 2.6 in. (0.5 cm x 5.3 cm x 6.6 cm) in physical dimensions. The TBIDC shall be made of insulating material PA belonging to insulating material group I. The TBIDC shall belong to class VO according to UL 94 flammability testing. The TBIDC shall have a pollution degree of three. The TBIDC shall operate continuously over a temperature range of -67°F to 212°F (-55°C to 100°C). The TBIDC shall be available in a left model, middle model and right model. The TBIDC shall have a matching end cover to protect the exposed conductor. 4.0 Mounting. The TBIDC shall mount to a DIN rail for quick installation and replacement. 5.0 Power. The TBIDC shall have a nominal voltage of 500 V and a nominal current of 17.5 A. The TBIDC shall have a maximum load current of 17.5 A. 6.0 Connections. The TBIDC shall provide two terminal connections: an insulation displacement connection at the base connection and an insulation displacement connection at the plug connection. The TBIDC shall have a removable insulation displacement plug. The TBIDC shall use wires from 24 AWG to 16 AWG. 7 .0 Color Coding. The TBIDC shall be available in three models: gray as standard, green for earth ground and blue for colorcoding plugs to ensure correct placement. 8.0 Ground. The green (ground) TBIDC shall be grounded via a metal foot to the DIN rail. The green (ground) TBIDC shall have a rated surge voltage of 6 kV and shall belong to surge voltage category III. The green (ground) TBIDC shall have a connection in accordance with the standard of IEC 61984. 9.0 Testing. The TBIDC shall pass the manufacturer’s mechanical, electrical and material tests. 10.0 Warranty. The TBIDC shall be warranted to be free from material and workmanship defects for a period of one year from date of shipment. 3
