TERRALINK™ High quality VSAT connectivity service designed to fit your needs Terralink™ iDirect is a standardised, low cost of entry and highly reliable IP broadband service with guaranteed Committed Information Rate (CIR) and high burst rates. Based on the latest iDirect Evolution DVB-S2/ACM platform, the service offers a simple way to connect to the Internet for users that don’t have excessive bandwidth requirements. The industry standard iDirect platform is further enhanced by Airbus Defence and Space’s cutting-edge bandwidth management technology resulting in high QoS and an unparalleled user experience. Additionally our iDirect platform is able to maintain full application visibility and provide application layer throughput control. Our customers can easily prioritize VoIP over volume intensive data uploads or downloads. The standard package is designed to be used for general satellite-based connectivity, including Internet access. To ensure reliability and availability for all users, the package provides guaranteed CIR, guaranteed maximum contention based on the package description and is data rate limited to the maximum burst data rate.

Customer portal is a web based tool available as standard that integrates traffic data and service operations related inputs: - Traffic graphs (iDirect monitor) - Key Performance Indicators (Service database) - Hardware and network configurations - Trouble tickets (NOC ticketing system) - Change history - Document archive
Quality of Service Airbus Defence and Space has developed an in-house, industry-leading bandwidth management system. It enhances the standard iDirect Group QoS, enabling higher levels of quality and service, better reliability, more speed and lowercosts than other iDirect services available. As a core aspect of Terralink™ iDirect, it features: • Flat, very stable latency, practically independent of network load • Ability to set-up network QoS to meet all customer requirements • Seven standard QoS traffic classes: - Net-OP includes all network management protocols like dynamic routing, SNMP, remote password authentication and similar - VoIP includes all known VoIP applications including Skype, Google Talk, Lync, legacy H323 SIP and many others - Security includes VPN tunnels and encrypted protocols - Web Applications include interactive web browsing and interactive web applications (Facebook, Twitter and many others). This class includes encrypted web mail. - Streaming. All music and video streaming services, web radios, web TVs and similar - P2P, all Peer to Peer applications used for exchange of large content volume. P2P class is first which is dropped if there is link congestion. - Fallback is for all the applications not being prioritized (or down prioritized).
Scope of supply A typical Terralink™ iDirect package includes the following, all supplied direct by Airbus Defence and Space: • VSAT remote hardware - 1.2m or 1.8m VSAT antenna system - iDirect Evolution X3 or X5 satellite router • Internet Access (up to 2048 kbps outbound and 512 kbps inbound) • Standard SLA • Optional services, such as: - VoIP Voice services - Custom QoS - Premium SLA level.
