ELECTRICAL INFORMATION Mains Supply: The mains operating voltage of the DC adaptor unit is on the rating plate on the appliance. The means of disconnection from the mains is via the integral plug on the DC adaptor. This must not be obstructed and must be freely accessible at all times. This unit should be used with the supplied mains power adaptor. Using the loudspeakers with another adaptor may be dangerous and will invalidate the product warranty. Tesco Stores Ltd, Delamare Road, Cheshunt, Herts, EN8 9SL H16SP-01 2.0 Powered Loudspeaker System User Guide H16SP-01 Powered Speakers OPERATION # Plug the power adaptor into the mains. # Switch power on to the PC and the speakers # Plug the PC (or other source component) and the speaker system into the mains. # Switch the PC on. # Turn the Volume Control on the speaker system halfway to the right. The blue power indicator on the speakers will light. CARE AND CLEANING Switch off and unplug from the mains. Wipe the speakers with a soft cloth. Occasionally, brush the speaker grilles lightly with a soft brush to remove any dust. WARRANTY Your Tesco appliance is covered by a warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase. If a fault develops during this period, please contact the TESCO electrical help line on 0845 456 6767. Please have your original purchase receipt with you when you call. This warranty in no way affects your consumer rights. SPECIFICATIONS INTRODUCTION This is a 2 channel (2.0) system consisting of a powered speaker which is connected to a second (passive) speaker. Both speakers are screened and may safely be placed near a CRT monitor. Model: Power Source: H16SP-01 6VDC 300mA (via mains adaptor) Power Output: 0.5W RMS per channel Frequency Response: 150Hz - 20kHz Plug the supplied audio cable into the line output of the sound card on your computer. Many computers have the matching sound card socket coded green. You may also see the symbol shown at the right of the drawing to help you. Net Weight: UNPACKING The unit comprises: One active loudspeaker; One passive loudspeaker; One power adaptor with a mains plug suitable for your area. After unpacking, check the unit carefully. If there is any damage please return the unit for attention to your local Tesco store. Please have your receipt with you when you call. Retain the packing. If you decide to dispose of the packing, do so with full regards to any recycling provisions in your area. PLACEMENT AND CONNECTION Uncoil all the cables carefully. Place the speakers on a desk or shelf in a secure place where they are unlikely to get pushed over or fall. Place the powered speaker nearest the computer. Place the passive loudspeaker about one metre away from the powered speaker. Ensure that the connecting cable is not stretched tight. For good stereo, the convention is to place the powered speaker on the left and the passive speaker on the right. The ON/OFF switch is integrated with the volume control. Before connecting the loudspeaker, turn the volume control fully anticlockwise so that the switch clicks OFF. Switch the computer off and unplug it from the mains power. # To Speakers (Alternatively you may connect the system into any audio component with a suitable line or headphone output.) The supplied power adaptor has a cord with a DC connector. Plug this into the line socket on the powered loudspeaker. To Mains Supply AD AC AP TO R To Speakers Make sure the volume on the PC is enabled. Turn the sound on the PC roughly 2/3 of the way up. Play some music and adjust the volume control on the loudspeaker to the desired level. Volume Control: In use, you may alter the volume either from the PC or via the volume control on the speakers. CAUTION: Excessive levels of sound can damage your equipment and your hearing as well as being unpleasant for others. If at any time the sound from the loudspeakers becomes distorted, turn the volume down at the loudspeakers. Set a more sensible level. After use: Always switch the power off at the front panel. If you will not be using the unit for long periods, unplug it from the mains. 390g UK: Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste.
