Thanks for buying Quidzel’s BMW Bluetooth Audio Adapter. Our kit enables you to wirelessly stream audio content through your car’s stereo system with a simple and easy installation and pairing. Installation Locate your CD changer prewiring, usually behind the left side of the trunk. It will consist of a 3 pin and 6 pin connector. Connect the Bluetooth Module to these connectors. Leave accessible for now. If you need to remove or reset the unit, the 3 pin data and power connector is held in place with a tab. Slide a fine flathead screwdriver tip under the connector to release the connector from the retaining tab. The 6 pin audio connector is a bit simpler to remove.
Pairing Turn on your stereo and select the CD changer input. Press button 3 to activate/deactivate pairing stereo should display “PAIRING”. On older radios, you will have to push buttons twice. Pairing stays active for 30 seconds, during which time you can connect to your phone to QUIDZEL_BMW. If you do not connect, turn off pairing, then turn it back on. Once connected as indicated by your device, turn off pairing by pressing button 3. You should now be able to play music using the controls on your phone/audio device. To erase all paired device connections, push button 2 while in pairing mode, and you should see “BT ERASED”. Functions Once a song list is playing, you can start and stop playing by selecting the CD changer mode. You can skip tracks forward and backwards within the setlist from either the stereo or the steering wheel buttons. Button 1 controls the display. Normally after changing tracks, “BLUETOOTH” will remain displayed. If you want to use other display functions, like tone adjustments or the clock, simply press button 1 it will say “BT DISP OFF”, and no more. To reactivate to indicate the source you have selected, simply press again, and you will see “BLUETOOTH” Button 2 erases the paired device memory while in pairing mode. Button 3 activates and deactivates pairing mode. Pairing mode needs to be deactivated after connecting. Button 4 turns the bluetooth power on and off. Also, the bluetooth is turned on and off by inserting or removing the key from the ignition. Button 6 resets the bluetooth module. If problems persist, try disconnecting the 3 pin connector briefly to do a power on reset. Once everything is working satisfactory, you can secure the bluetooth with provided zip ties.
