We would provide the details of the restriction and its countermeasures. [Restriction requiring condition combination] When all the following conditions met, the required function cannot be executed. ch.8 and ch.9 are used and, I/O mode 1(timer full mode) is used. and, external triggering input T GIN is used. In the original connection configuration of I/O mode 1, the external input terminal, T IOA09, of MCU is connected to the T GIN input of base timer ch.8. (Figure 1) However, in the present circuit of the affected products, T IOA09 is not connected to the T GIN input of base timer ch.8. (Figure 2) even if the I/O mo de 1 is se lected. T herefore, when ch.8 and ch.9 are used in I/O mode 1, the external trigger input T GIN cannot be used. T he restriction is not required when the I/O mode 1 is selected in the case where the base timer itself does not use external trigger input T GIN (T MCR.EGS1=0, T MCR.EGS0=0). But, the restriction is not clearly described in the existing revision of the peripheral manual.
