The HP M8605A and M8606A ACL LTO generation 4 tape drives represents the fourth generation of the Ultrium tape drive family and delivers a capacity of up to 1.6 terabytes (assuming two-to-one data compression) on a single cartridge. The M8605A and M8606A ACL are fully read and write compatible with third-generation Ultrium data cartridges, and offers a further degree of investment protection through its backward-read compatibility with second-generation Ultrium media. These auto cartridge loader (ACL) tape drives are available for use with HP NonStop Integrity NS-series servers. The M8605A ACL comes in a rackmount configuration, and the M8606A ACL comes in a tabletop configuration. Both of the units come with a 15-cartridge tape magazine.
