INTRODUCTION. The PA1000 Alarm/ immobiliser is a microprocessor controlled system incorporating anti-false alarm circuitry and a military standard remote control encryption system. It has advanced remote handset learning, an inbuilt panic facility, programmable ultrasonic exclusion and a valet mode that is all operated from the remote handset. The alarm is actively armed and the immobiliser circuits are actively/passively armed. TO ACTIVATE THE SYSTEM (TURN ALARM ON). 1. Press the raised button on the remote handset, the indicators will flash four times and the central locking will lock. The system is now activated (turned on) and the LED mounted on the dashboard will flash rapidly. After 45 seconds the system will become armed and the LED will flash once a second. On opening a door, boot or bonnet, or if movement is detected within the vehicle, the alarm will be triggered. The siren will sound and the indicators flash. In the event of the system being triggered the siren will sound and the indicators flash for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds the alarm will reset and re-arm itself ready for any further intrusions. If for any reason a door is left open for example, the alarm will re-trigger. The onboard microprocessor controls each individual trigger facility i.e. doors, boot, bonnet and ultrasonics, shutting down a circuit after 3 triggers. Therefore, all facilities together have a maximum of 12 possible triggers. TO DEACTIVATE THE SYSTEM (TURN ALARM OFF) 2. Press the indented button on the remote handset. The indicators will flash once, the central locking will unlock and the LED, mounted on the dashboard, will be constantly on. The system is now deactivated (turned off). PASSIVE ARMING OF THE IMMOBILISER 3. The immobiliser circuits of the system will automatically arm 30 seconds after the ignition has been turned off (passive arming). Turn the ignition off and the LED will be constantly on for 30 seconds (passive arming period). During the final 5 seconds of the 30 second passive arming period the internal buzzer will beep 5 times i.e. once a second. The immobiliser is now activated (on) and the LED will flash once a second. To deactivate the immobiliser circuits press the indented button on the remote handset. The LED will momentarily extinguish and the indicators will flash once. The immobiliser circuits are now disarmed and the LED will then be constantly on. Turn the ignition on And start the engine, the LED will be extinguished when the vehicle is being driven. Failure to turn the ignition on within 30 seconds will result in the immobiliser circuits rearming themselves. If this occurs, follow procedure 3. The internal buzzer is only audible from inside the vehicle. Every press of the indented button on the remote handset will refresh the 30 second passive arming setup time of the immobiliser circuits. The passive arming of the immobiliser will not result in the operation of the central locking or any other accessory device. PANIC FACILITY 4. The panic mode can be operated at any time by pressing the raised button on the remote handset for a minimum of 3.5 seconds. When operated the siren will sound and the indicators will flash for 15 seconds, after which it will cancel automatically. If the indented remote handset button is pressed during the 15 seconds, the panic operation will be cancelled. If the panic facility is operated while the vehicle is being driven, the ignition cut facility will not activate, thus allowing the driver to escape from any possible attack. ULTRASONIC EXCLUSION 5. To turn off the ultrasonic’s when the alarm system is on, activate the alarm in the normal manner, within 3 seconds of the last arming indicator flash press the indented remote handset button once. The indicators will flash 3 times confirming the de-activation of the ultrasonic’s. The ultrasonic’s will be re-instated automatically when the alarm system is next activated. SYSTEM TRIGGER AND TAMPER WARNING. In the event of the system being triggered the siren will sound and the indicators flash for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds the system will reset and re-arm itself ready for any farther intrusions If triggered the system will warn the driver by flashing the indicators 6 times when the system is disarmed. On disarming the alarm the LED will be flashing at a rate designated by the circuit that was triggered. 2 flashes in succession. Doors. 3 flashes in succession. Bonnet. 4 flashes in succession. Boot. 5 flashes in succession. Ultrasonic. 6 flashes in succession. Ignition. This warning display will only be cancelled when the ignition is turned on. SELECTABLE ULTRASONIC DISABLE MODE. One of the following 3 ultrasonic exclusion modes can be programmed onto the system. When the ultrasonic exclusion is activated the mode that has been pre-selected will apply. Mode 1. Ultrasonic is disabled. The windows will close. LED one flash. Mode 2. Ultrasonic is disabled. The windows stay open. LED two flashes. Mode 3. Ultrasonic is active. The windows stay open. LED three flashes. Mode 3 would generally be selected if a microwave was installed instead of an ultrasonic. To program the ultrasonic exclusion modes, turn the ignition on. Within 10 seconds press the raised button on the remote handset 4 times in succession. A beep will be heard each time the button is pressed, the fourth press will be followed by a long beep, which signifies the unit is in program mode. Use the indented button to toggle through the modes i.e. the LED flashing once a second is mode 1, the LED flashing twice a second is mode 2 etc. When finished press the raised button to save your selection. Two short beeps will be heard to confirm that the selected mode has been saved. If no selection has been made within 10 seconds the unit will revert back to the previous selected mode. VALET MODE. Valet mode enables the vehicle to be serviced without having to relinquish the remote handsets and disables the passive arming of the immobiliser circuits. This removes the need to explain the alarm operation and any frustration a mechanic may have with the constant arming of the immobiliser circuits. Turn the ignition on. Within 10 seconds press the raised button on the remote handset once, the indented button once, the raised button once and the indented button once, 4 presses in total. A beep will be heard each time the a button is pressed. The fourth press is followed by a long beep, signifying that the unit is in valet mode. While the unit is in valet mode the LED will constantly flash and the internal buzzer will sound whenever the driver's door is opened. To re-instate full operation of the system, simply press the indented button once. 2 beeps, from the internal buzzer, will confirm the valet mode is cancelled. LAST 3 CIRCUITS - DISPLAY MODE. The unit memorises the last 3 triggers that have taken place. They are displayed, most recent trigger first. Turn the ignition on. Within 10 seconds press the raised button on the remote handset once and the indented button three times, 4 presses in total. A beep will be heard each time a button is pressed. The fourth press is followed by a long beep, signifying that the unit is in - last three triggers display mode. The LED will now display the last three activated trigger circuits. Each activation displayed will be separated with a long beep. On completion of the display 2 short beeps will be heard. The following is a key to the LED codes which could be displayed. 2 flashes in succession. 3 flashes in succession. 4 flashes in succession. 5 flashes in succession. 6 flashes in succession. Doors. Bonnet. Boot. Ultrasonic. Ignition. HANDSET BATTERY REPLACEMENT Remove the 2 screws securing the back of the handset. Lift the lid off the remote handset and remove the battery. Install the new battery taking care to observe the polarity. The battery and printed circuit board are marked + positive and - negative. Refit the lid and replace the screws. On the new style fob positive is to the right. PROGRAMING ADDITIONAL KEY FOBS To program fobs you need a working red master. With alarm off and sat in the car press the red master once. You should hear 2 beeps. Press the raised lock button of the new handset for 2 seconds, Release for 1 second and press it again for 2 seconds and release. A third press should activate the system and lock the doors... Basically as soon as the remote locks the doors the procedure is over and the fob is latched to the system
