The Types of Collars That Work With the ICT-700 Introduction Although there are a variety of collars available for use with “invisible” or “underground” fence systems, not all are compatible with the Invisible Fence Brand’s ICT-700 system. The ICT-700 is an outdoor “pet containment solution” that uses a transmitter connected to a buried wire establishing an “invisible” border that keeps dogs contained to a specific area (See Reference 6). The dog wears a battery-powered collar that delivers a “tone and correction” when it gets too close to the established border. It’s important to make sure you’re using the right collar to ensure the system works correctly and keeps your dog safe. Microlite Computer Collar As of 2009, the Microlite Computer Collar is the primary collar sold by the Invisible Fence Brand for use with the ICT-700 (See References 2). The collar also works with other Invisible Fence systems in the company’s 700 and 800 series of products. It comes in a variety of colors and designs and weighs about an ounce (See References 3). Information about the Microlite Computer Collar is available through the Invisible Fence website (invisiblefence.com), and can be purchased through local Invisible Fence dealers (many of which have online sites where the collar is sold) and other select retailers. Other Invisible Fence Brand Collars There are other Invisible Fence Brand collars that are compatible with the ICT-700, including the Platinum, Basic and R51 receiver collars (See References 4). These collars may be available through your local Invisible Fence dealer. In addition, they sometimes can be found for sale on online auction sites such as eBay. Invisible Fence Brand sells other replacement collars, such as the Classic Computer Collar and the Titanium Collar, through local dealers and their affiliate sites, but these models are only compatible with systems in the company’s 800 series of products and won’t work with the ICT-700. Third-Party Collars There are collars advertised as being compatible with the ICT-700, such as the Perimeter Replacement Collar available on the America’s Pet Store site (Americas-pet-store.com) (See References 5). Although some collars produced by third-party companies may be compatible with the ICT-700, a company representative points out that “non-Invisible Fence Brand collars may not always work correctly with the system,” so the company only recommends using official Invisible Fence Brand collars (See References 1). Batteries for Invisible Fence Brand Collars It’s important to note that collars in the Invisible Fence Brand line are battery-powered and only work with specific battery models produced by the company. Batteries can be purchased through the company’s website or through local Invisible Fence dealers. You also may find batteries for sale through online retailers such as Amazon, but it’s important to make sure you are purchasing the correct battery for the collar you own, as the battery models are not interchangeable.
