When the filter is set to LO-PASS 24 dB, a lo-pass mono filtered signal is directed to the PRE OUT outputs and to the amplified outputs, the sum of the L + R signal inputs. In mono mode, only the right input is activated. You will have a mono signal in PRE OUT and in amplified outputs with whatever types of selected filter. Only the right BYPASS output connector will have the same signal as the right channel input. Other functions Remote In: LRx 2.4 and LRx 2.9 are powerful stereo amplifiers. Their power supply section and final stages, designed to work also in mono and trimode, insure very high output current, with powers up to 900 W (RMS). AMP constantly check the operating status system and ART function allow automatic turn-on/off when a remote signal isn’t available from the source. Like in all LRx models, you can use VCRA volume remote control by connecting it to the special SUB VOL socket when you drive the subwoofer in mono. There are endless handling possibilities, for every type of installation. Tonal accuracy is the best, with clear, detailed trebles and solid, bursting bass, for ultimate performance. 7 ÷15 VDC - 1 mA Remote Out: 12 VDC - 50 mA Speaker On: Amp ON with amplified signal Fuse (AFS): 40 A You can independently select a bypass, hi-pass or lo-pass filter to be applied to the amplifier and to PRE OUT output. If the amplifier and the PRE OUT output are configured in the same way, both will output the same signal and cut-off frequency selected. The modules, equal for all amplifiers, act as input or output, according to the model, bypass or filtered preout signals. Besides being interchangeable, these modules are reversible and allow both the standard connection or the one with the contacts facing the amplifier inside. ECI-H automatically activates ART - Automatic Remote Turn On-Off, which turns on and off the amplifier according to the source, without the need of a remote signal and without troublesome bumps or delays, typical of traditional systems switching off. It can also generate a preamplified signal on the RCA outputs from the input high level one. ECI permits to widen every factory system without limits. Easy Set Up - Easy configuration Practical examples guide the creation of a system. Choose a system, a simple two channel front or a multiamplified, multichannel one, driven by a single stereo signal or by complex external processors; you will be able to build it through the use of pre-drilled cards and the help of detailed owner’s manuals. Installation is guided step by step, for achieving maximum performance and results. Everybody can configure the most difficult system without mistakes thanks to these diagrams. HCI - Hidden Cables Installation The mistery of disappearing SAF - Smart Air Flow - Beyond thermal limits The cooling system concerns the heat sink exterior and its interior. A fan is in the heart of the circuit; its rotation speed, electronically controlled by AMP, changes according to the amplifier working temperature. The higher the demanded power is, the more heat will be generated, the faster the fan speed will be. Forced air flow improves cooling; it takes air from the outside and pushes it where it is more needed, until it comes out again through the proper ducts and carries excessive heat with it. SAF insures maximum thermal capacity and, thus, power. The installation of an amplifier with protected, hidden cables is no longer a dream because LRx was designed for this, too. The amplifier fixing holes are inside its outline and covered when installation is over. Power supply terminal blocks can accept cables up to 2 A.W.G. (33 mm2); their shape has the cable and its jacket bend of almost 90°. ECI reversibility locates the signal connectors in an invisible place. Two special hollows in the bottom allow the signal cables routing; cables can be fixed through clips. AMP - Amplifier Management Processor - Controlling the elements LRx electronics controls a powerful heart. A microprocessor constantly analyses voltage and current, signal and temperature, to supply the maximum and the best power in every condition and moment. Music best, possible reproduction: Power vs. Load this is the goal to achieve. AMP is much more than the amplifier handling system; it activates several functions which monitor and protect the installation: power supply Power vs. Temperature 1200 system, speakers, wiring and source. 1000 The working temperature affects the components functioning; AMP Thermal Protection reads its value, electronically carrying out its thermal stabilisation 800 and indicating the achievement of thermal limits while the amplifier 600 can safely go on supplying power. In case of speakers systems 400 which tend to overload the output stage, AMP acts by limiting 200 power supply voltage. Ω The audio signal dynamics and original quality are never affected, 0 0 4 3 2 1 5 while the amplifier supplies as much power as possible. 1Ω Stable 2Ω Stable 1Ω Stable 2Ω Stable LRx Overload Protection with AMP P (W) Traditional Overload Protection Traditional Amplifier LRx with AMP + SAF P (W) Safe P max Traditional Amplifier Music P (W) Time P max Safe LRx with AMP + SAF Safe Music T (°C) Time 90° 80° 70° Safe Thermal Protection Load ( ) Time 4.5 3.5 2.5 1.5 0.5 MSC - Modular Soundproof Construction - The separation of contents The amplifier is designed in a modular way. Its motherboard has oversized paths, which are routed not to interfere with the audio signal, and only houses passive power components and service circuits. The connections between output stages and speakers terminal blocks run along the printed circuit board side ends, passing behind the modules where BJT output transistors are assembled. This way the right and left channels of every section are one as far as possible from the others, to the advantage of stereo separation. All the drivers, from power supply to final stages ones, are on SMD modules. The preamplifier/controls/crossover section is built on a special printed circuit board. The separation of signal control circuits from power supply and power ones prevents every possible interference. Power supply stage is PWM stabilised. Thanks to its high ability of supplying current and to the use of MOSFET’s of 70 A each, it is possible to easily drive even the most difficult loads, with valued tonal accuracy and first-grade acoustics. Services - The importance of knowing limits Expansion potentialities are endless. ECI modules efficiency is completed by the sockets functionality. When you connect the cables of a factory speaker to SPK ON socket, you activate ART function even if ECI-H input module is not used. The amplifier will automatically turn on and it will repeat the turn-on signal, which will be supplied to other electronic devices in the system. When they are configured for driving a subwoofer, all the LRx’s can be adjusted thanks to ESV - External Subwoofer Volume, by connecting VCRA, a volume remote control, to the special SUB VOL socket. - 62018 Potenza Picena (MC) Italy - Tel. +39 0733 870870 - Fax +39 0733 870880 - www.elettromedia.it
