The VT-2400 3G Vehicle Tracking Device The VT-2400 is the newest model in the NexTraq® VT series of GPS-based fleet tracking hardware. It is the telematics industry’s most state-of-the-art vehicle tracking device. It supports the latest advanced vehicle location technologies to ensure that a company’s fleet management solution is able to stay in front of fleet management innovation.
The NexTraq Difference While some GPS fleet tracking providers use third party devices, NexTraq designs and manufactures the VT-2400 series of hardware and develops its firmware and software here in the U.S. This gives NexTraq the ability to control the quality of our devices and ensures our customers get the highest quality hardware on the market. We also leverage an over-the-air device management and maintenance system so configurations and firmware can be updated without the need for a service call. This increases the lifespan of the device and significantly lowers operating costs.
Key Features
Operates on the 3G network
Built-in accelerometer and gyroscope for accurate driver behavior data
TamperShield™ capable for additional device protection
Multiple I/O ports for various add-on features
Advanced power management prolongs vehicle battery life
3G Cellular Data The VT-2400 contains an enhanced cellular modem capable of transmitting and receiving data at 3G speeds. It also operates on 2G networks when 3G isn’t available. This provides a greater coverage area and allows it to transfer more data in the same amount of time, enabling more features to operate on the unit.
Tamper-resistance NexTraq’s VT-2400 devices come with a tamper-resistant protective case. The optional NexTraq TamperShield™ can also be added. It covers device cables to prevent tampering, includes an internal backup battery designed to provide power in the event of a main line power cut and has an internal GPS antenna so it can continue to receive signals even with the external antennas disconnected.
Driver Behavior The VT-2400 includes a built-in accelerometer that monitors aggressive driving behaviors letting owners and managers gain a thorough understanding of how their drivers are using their vehicles. The device also offers an industry first in gyroscope technology for precise vehicle tracking that ensures the most accurate readings.
Enhanced Dispatch Features In addition to features allowing units to receive stops, routes, and messages; the VT-2400 includes a digital Garmin® connection which simplifies installation and allows the hardware to power the Garmin without the need of a separate power supply. This enhancement provides a greater level of control for the user.
Connectivity NexTraq's VT-2400 can be easily hardwired to any vehicle. It has multiple ports for accessories such as Driver ID, PTO Sensors and Temperature Sensors.
