Showing Scarface on September 3. Bucknell Film Screenings include Decameron (8/30), Underworld (9/4), Who Is Dayani Cristal? (9/5), I Walked with Zombies (9/5), and Caravaggio (9/6). Other upcoming shows include The Big Sick (8/31), The House (9/3 & 7), and Beatriz at Dinner (9/8-9). The Campus Theatre will also host a Totally 80’s Dance Party on September 1. Alberto Jorge Carol will speak at the opening reception. Free and open to the public, an opening reception will be held on September 2nd from 7-9pm. Gullah comes from the West African language and means a people blessed by God. Ranky Tanky translates loosely as: “Work it” or “Get funky!” In this spirit, the Charleston, S.C. based quintet performs timeless music of Gullah culture born in the Sea Island region of the southeastern United States. From playful game songs to ecstatic shouts, from heartbreaking spirituals to delicate lullabies, the musical roots of Charleston are “rank” and fertile ground from which these contemporary artists are grateful to have grown. Over 800 tractors on display, over 800 campers, and more than 40 parts vendors available on the grounds. The food vendors offer the best eats you'll ever try. http://pennscave.com Centre Hall September 8-10: Lewisburg Doggie Dips Doggie Dips returns to the Lewisburg Community Pool on September 8 from 4:30-7:00pm, September 9 from noon-4:00pm, and September 10 from noon-4:00pm. Doggie Dips is one of Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority’s most popular events, and this year marks the 8th Annual Doggie Dips. Come and enjoy the end of summer with your four-legged friends at the Lewisburg Community Pool. Dogs will get a rare chance to play, run free, and swim in the Lewisburg Community Pool. The event will also feature an outdoor washing station so that your canine friend can leave refreshed and clean. The Center is thrilled to partner with Tröegs Brewing Company for this exciting event! Two routes will be available: The HopBack Trail is walker-friendly, and a great option for beginning and intermediate trail runners. The Rugged Trail features more challenging elevations and terrain, perfect for those who are looking for a more “rugged” trail experience. Lovell has used the traditional silhouettes of African warrior/hunter shirts as canvases, on which to handcraft cloth with surface embellished details that symbolically honor and protect each woman as a response to the battles she fought. Now – December 3: Inherent Control Cyphers Drawing on the visual languages of Middle-Eastern and European cultures, artist Laleh Mehran creates a roomsized immersive and interactive multimedia installation.
