TimberNaviTM Mapping Process Prep A: Install & License TimberNavi Applications  (First time only) A. Execute “TimberNavi_ArcGis_Install.exe” file B. Execute “MapDesigner_Install.exe” file C. Execute “TimberNavi Add‐in .esriAddIn” file D. License “TimberOffice 5TM” program and restart computer Prep B: Format ArcMapTM (First time only) A. Open “ArcMap” program B. Turn on “TimberNavi Toolbar 1.0” toolbar C. Turn on “Enable ArcGIS Runtime Tools” Prep C: Format TimberNavi after first restart (First time only) A. Configure simulator settings Step 1: Download Base Map A. Open the “TimberOffice 5TM” icon on the desktop and navigate to Map Designer module B. Type in address or GPS coordinate to locate work site C. Pan and zoom to desired view within extents boundary D. Click the “Download” button Step 2: Setup Site Project in ArcMap A. Name and save base map “tpk” file into desired project folder B. Open base map in ArcMap and save project session to same folder as base map C. Click the “Setup” button to set alarm parameters Step 3a: Create Site Layers A. Use the “Create” button to build desired free‐hand site attributes B. Click the “Create” button to exit create mode Step 3b: Editing & Formatting A. Use the “Edit” button to delete, name, or format parameters related to site attributes B. Click the “Edit” button to exit edit mode C. Edit layer properties by double clicking desired layer within the table of contents TimberNaviTM Mapping Process Step 3c: (Optional) Utilizing GPS Points A. Use the “Import” button to insert a GPS point file as a layer B. Use the “Create” button to build desired site attributes by snapping to GPS points C. Use the “Edit” button to delete, name, or format parameters related to site attributes D. Remove GPS Points layer from table of contents once it’s no longer needed Step 3d: (Optional) Utilizing GPS Polylines & Shapes A. Use the “Import” button to insert GPS polyline or shape files as layers B. Assign alarm settings prior to completing the import C. Name & edit layer properties by double clicking desired layer within the table of contents Step 4: Export & Load Map Package to Memory Stick A. Verify layers are properly labeled and formatted for machine operator B. Save project session C. Click the “Create MPK” button to save map package file to project folder D. Insert memory stick and then click the “Share” button E. Select desired memory stick and files to load to the stick and click “share” F. Save session and exit ArcMap Step 5: Load Files to Machine Monitor (or Desktop Simulator) A. Insert memory stick into USB port (located on the TimberNavi monitor bracket) B. Select “Main Menu”, followed by “Select Site”, then “USB” C. Select desired site folder and press “Open” D. Verify the site has loaded properly E. (Optional) Insert tracking layer i. Load tracking layer to memory stick ii. Insert memory stick into USB port iii. Select “Main Menu”, followed by “Historical Tracks”, then “Export/Import” iv. Select “Import from USB”, select desired tracking folder, and press “Open” v. F. Verify the tracking layer has loaded properly Go to work
