INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS For ConTech Lighting TLTO OutdoorTapelight Series: White, Single Color, and RGB
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
• It is recommended to layout the system before permanently installing the adhesive backed LED tape. • Ensure that the power supply is sized properly for LED tape loading otherwise power supply or LED tape may be damaged. Example: the High Output Outdoor LED tape consumes 1.8Ws per foot. This means that a 36W power supply can effectively drive 20-feet of LED tape (36 ÷ 1.8 = 20). Review the loading chart to determine power supply maximum load run length capabilities. • Locate position for power supply and install in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes. Review the loading chart to determine the maximum system run length; Refer to wiring chart or power supply distance from first LED tape section to minimize the effects of voltage drop. A. PLUG-IN STYLE: Class 2, 120V input with 12V secondary. Install away from heat sources.

*Distance from first LED tape section to end of LED tape run. Exceeding this length may result in inconsistent light output from beginning to end of the LED tape run.
**If the max load exceeds the max run length, multiple runs from power supply may be employed as long as maximum load run is not exceeded.

• Measure the desired space for the LED tapelight installation; cut tape accordingly, at the cut lines only, every 4". • One cut per reel. Cutting the tape terminates the conductivity of the tape on the non-power feed end. • Note that the LED tape, input power connector and RGB controller (on the RGB tape only) are pre-assembled. (Figure 1) • 5' input power connector with water tight plug is attached to the tape and connects into the wet rated, plug-and-play power supply or 2-way splitter. For applications requiring lengths longer than 5', the connector can be field modified. Must use appropriate components that comply with local codes (weather-proof connectors, cord covers, enclosures, etc. if outdoors)

MOUNTING
The TLTO tapelight can be installed by the following methods: • Direct mount with self-stick adhesive backing (see below) • Mounting clips and screws provided (Figure 3) Typical distance between mounting clips is approximately 24" for most applications. • Adhered in the aluminum mounting channels and installed with corresponding mounting clips (channels and clips sold separately)
SELF-STICK ADHESIVE BACKING
• Mounting surface must be clean and dry to ensure proper adhesion of LED tape. • Remove the adhesive backing immediately before use. (Figured 2) Airborne contaminants could adhere to the adhesive and may reduce its performance. Apply firm, even pressure when installing the tape. Once applied, the tapelight cannot be repositioned. • Immediately after the tape is installed, the wet-out (physical contact between surface and substrate) process begins. The adhesive will continue to bond to the surface over time. After 72 hours, full bond strength is achieved. For additional support, use the acrylic mounting clips and screws provided. (Figure 3) • Do not pinch or bend LED tape and connector at hard angles. Bend only between LEDs. Use an angle greater or equal to 90° when there is an LED chip on the corner while placing the tape in a concave position. Use an angle greater or equal to 60° when there is no LED chip on the corner while placing the tape in a concave position. Use an angle greater or equal to 60° when there is an LED chip on the corner while placing the tape in a convex position. In the convex position, the angle should not reach 90°. (Figure 4)

RGB CONTROLLER
• To install, mount the controller in the desired position by using two screws (not provided). Controller should be installed where it can be accessed by the remote. (Figure 5) • When using the remote, aim it towards the controller. Sensor efficiency distance <16.5 feet and sensory efficiency angle approximately 60°. • The RGB tape and attached controller can be used outdoors. Not submersible.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS For ConTech Lighting TLTO OutdoorTapelight Series: White, Single Color, and RGB TLTO series tapelight is dimmable utilizing the TLPDIM10V Dimming Module or the TLPDIMWP Wall Plate Dimmer. To hardwire the Outdoor tapelight, the input power connector and wires will need to be cut/stripped and connected to a hardwire power supply and should be placed in a weather-proof, code approved enclosure supplied by others.
The 0-10V Dimming Module (TLPDIM10V) is designed for use with commercially available 0-10V dimmers. 0-10V dimmers are commonly used for LED lighting systems due to their fine performance and reliability. Compatible with quality 0-10V dimmers, this module will dim down to 15%. 120VAC Hard Wire

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
• Read all the instructions before installation. Save instructions for later use. • Turn off power at fuse or circuit breaker box before installation or before doing any maintenance work. • Product must be grounded to avoid potential electric shock and any other potential hazards. • Product must be mounted in locations and at heights and in a manner consistent with its intended use, and in compliance with National Electrical Code and local codes. Use of accessory equipment is not recommended. • Installing contrary to instructions may cause unsafe conditions. • Do not block light from the trim aperture, in whole or in part, as this may cause unsafe conditions. • Warning: Risk of fire. Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated at 60°C. Consult a qualified electrician before installation. • To avoid hazards to children, account for all parts and properly dispose of all packing materials. • Call the Technical Support department at ConTech Lighting with any installation questions: 847.559.5500.
