All electrical wiring devices, lighting, outlets, HVAC connections, special system devices, rough-in and conduit shown/noted to be provided on the east wall of the apparatus bay shall be routed to the locations from above. No conduits, cabling, rough-in and/or circuitry shall be routed to come from below and/or along the building perimeter walls. QUESTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS: 1. Sheet E100, Riser Diagram indicates a 225/205 KW diesel generator. Spec 16401-1 calls for a dual fuel natural gas and propane generator. Please clarify. Response: The generator shall be a diesel generator in lieu of the dual fuel generator noted in the specification section referenced above. Contractor shall provide a 120/208V, 3‫׎‬, 4W, 300KW diesel generator with a 600A enclosed circuit breaker. The generator shall be complete with an automatic transfer switch as noted in the riser diagram, battery charger, block heater, WP enclosure, and an industrial grade 90 degree muffler turned away from the bldg. and toward prevailing winds. As part of the generator equipment, the generator shall be supplied with a sub base fuel tank that shall be sized for 72 hrs. of usable fuel, of continuous operation at full load. Contractor shall provide a full tank of fuel before and after testing has been completed. In addition, contractor shall provide a concrete pad for the generator. The concrete pad shall be 20” thick, rebar- reinforced concrete pad, with 4” of exposed concrete above ground and 16” below grade for additional support. Concrete pad shall be horizontally big enough to support a sub-base fuel tank if provided adjacent to the generator. If not, dimension concrete pad per the generator and sub base fuel tank footprint regardless. Contractor shall dimension concrete pad (horizontal plane) with the generator manufacturer they select as their sub for the generator. 2. Sheet E100, Riser Diagram indicates generator provided as an alternate. Bid form does not show an alternate for the generator. Please Clarify. Response: The generator is scheduled to be alternate #4 as stated in the alternate schedule on sheet C101 of the contract documents. 3. Sheet E100, Riser Diagram indicates a 600A, 3-Pole generator breaker. Specification 16401-6 indicates a 400A, 3-Pole breaker. Please Clarify. Response: a 600A, 3-Pole breaker shall be provided in lieu of the 400A, 3-Pole breaker noted in the specification section referenced. We did not find any amperage, number of poles. Please clarify. Response: Refer to supplemental electrical drawings for more information and installation. 5. Sheet E101, note 9 indicates a 30A, 1-Pole contactor. Circuits 7, 9, and 11 are shown going to this contactor. Does this need to be a 3-Pole contactor or more? Please clarify. Response: Contractor shall provide more contactors per each circuit and note 9 shown on the contract documents. For circuit 7, contractor shall provide (1)-30A/1-pole contactor, for circuit 9, contractor shall provide (2)-30A/1-pole contactors, and for circuit 11, contractor shall provide (2)-30A/1-pole contactors. Provide a side hinged, cabinet, sized to house the contactors noted above. 6. Sheet E101, garage circuits G-1 and G-3are shown going to relays. We do not find a relay panel. Please clarify. Response: Circuits have been relocated and re-routed to panel A and lighting control panel. Refer to supplemental electrical drawings for more information and installation. 7. Sheet E101, note 9 indicates a time clock. We do not find any specifications on a time clock. Please clarify. Response: Contractor shall provide a 7-day, 120v coil, 6-zone, digital astronomical time clock with hi-cap back-up to control the exterior lighting scheduled and noted on the contract documents. Coordinate exterior lighting scheduling with owner prior to project completion. Locate and connect time clock adjacent to 3-section panel A and contactor cabinet mentioned in question/clarification #5. 8. Sheet E101, note 3 refers to detail 3/E2.0, what controls the contactors. Please clarify. Response: Note 3 is referring to detail 4/E001 on sheet E001 in addition to the lighting control panel set-up mentioned in question/clarification #4. Refer to details for more information and installation. 9. Sheet E001, fixture schedule, we did not find all the fixtures scheduled on sheet E101. Please clarify. Response: Refer to the supplemental electrical drawing for more information and details. 10. Sheet E101, note 2 refers to a lighting controller on detail 2/E2.0. we did not find this detail. Please clarify. . Response: Note 2 is referring to the lighting control panel set-up mentioned in question/clarification #4. Revised fixture schedule. Contractor shall provide all fixtures revised in the attached schedule. Refer to supplemental electrical drawing for more information. Sheet E100: 1. Communication Tower. The communication tower is scheduled to be provided as an alternate. As part of base bid, contractor shall provide (5)-3” underground conduit systems. (3)-conduits shall be routed and stubbed to the electrical/comm. rm., adjacent to the IT rack, on the wall and the other end stubbed underground at the location of the comm. tower concrete pad. The other (2)-conduits shall be routed and stubbed to 3-section panel and stubbed underground at the location of the comm. tower concrete pad. Sheet E101: 1. Revisions to the lighting plan. Refer to supplemental electrical drawings for more information and installation. 2. Fixture type SG scheduled to be provided on the exterior wall of the front entrance has been changed to a fixture type SH. Refer to the revised fixture schedule for more information. Sheet E102: 1. Revisions to the BI-FOLD doors in the apparatus bay. Refer to supplemental electrical drawings for more information and installation. Contractor shall provide all conduit and rough-in required for a complete and operational system. Coordinate with Bi-fold door manufacturer for the required infrastructure. 2. At the location of the water softener scheduled, contractor shall provide a 120V circuit for power. Connect to circuit 60 in panel A. Sheet E103: 1. Revisions to split system heat pumps. Contractor shall provide rough-in as noted for a data/phone outlet flush in wall in the listed locations below. Contractor shall verify and coordinate the locations with the owner prior to rough-in. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Types of toilet partition required include the following: Floor supported, overhead braced. Toilet accessories are specified elsewhere in Division-10. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Field Measurements: Take field measurements prior to preparation of shop drawings and fabrication where possible, to insure proper fitting of work. Manufacturer: Provide toilet partition produced by Capitol Partitions, Inc., Columbia, MD 21046 or approved equal. SUBMITTALS: Product Data: Submit manufacturer=s detailed technical data for materials, fabrication, and installation, including catalog cuts of anchors, hardware, fastenings, accessories and color selector. Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings for fabrication and erection of toilet partition assemblies not fully described by product drawings, templates, and instructions for installation of anchorage devices built into other work. Colors: Manufacturer=s premium color designs as selected by the Architect. PROJECT CLOSE OUT REQUIREMENTS: Provide Manufacturer=s Written Guarantee against breakage, corrosion and delamination: Fifteen (15) years PART 2 - PRODUCTS MATERIALS: Doors, panels, and pilasters shall be solid Polymer resin which is waterproof, nonabsorbent and has a self-lubricating surface that resists markings with pen, pencil or other writing instruments. All doors, panels, and pilasters shall be protected with a plastic masking. All edges shall be uniformly machined to a 0.250 inch radius. PLASTIC TOILET PARTITIONS 10161 - 1 NEW FIRE STATION #7 FOR CITY OF CARLSBAD DOORS: Doors shall be 1 inch thick x 55 inches high and mounted to pilasters with a continuous contact hinge full length of door, anchored 8" on center with tamper proof screws concealed under a snap-on cover plate. Each door shall be furnished with: one (1) coat hook/bumper of heavy chrome plated Zamak with rubber bumper, one (1) extruded aluminum slide latch, one (1) door pull (handicapped doors also include one (1) wall stop.) Each door shall contain a continuous aluminum strip or Aheat sinc@ on bottom. PANELS: Panels shall be 1 inch thick x 55 inches high and anchored to walls and pilasters with continuous wall brackets make of extruded aluminum. Each panel shall contain a continuous aluminum strip of Aheat sinc@ on bottom. PILASTERS: Ceiling Hung: Pilasters shall be 1-1/4 inch thick x height required and mounted to panels and wall with continuous wall brackets made of extruded aluminum. Pilasters shall have a 2" x 1" x full width aluminum bar anchored to top of the pilaster by means of three (3) 3/8" X 2-1/2" lag screws (two for pilasters under 6" wide). Pilasters to be fastened to structural member with 3/8" steel threaded rods. Structural member supplied and drilled by others. Each pilaster shall contain a continuous aluminum strip or Aheat sinc@ on bottom. WALL BRACKETS: Wall brackets shall be 57 inches long and made of heavy aluminum extrusion (6463-T5 alloy) with bright dip anodized finish. Wall brackets shall be pre-drilled by manufacturer with holes spaced every 12 inches along full with length of brackets. Wall brackets shall be mounted to panel and pilasters with stainless steel tamper resistant torx screws. Attachment of brackets to adjacent wall construction shall be accomplished by No. 5 plastic anchors and No. 14 x 1-1/2 inch stainless steel torx head screws. HINGES: Doors shall be hung on continuous contact piano-type hinges made of extruded aluminum and shall weigh not less than 1.5 pounds per foot. Knuckles shall have nylon separators. Pivot pins shall be 1/4" type 304 stainless steel. All fasteners shall be 5/8" stainless steel tamper-proof torx head screws located 8" on-center on door and pilaster. Fasteners shall be concealed under a snap-on cover. Cover shall be fastened top and bottom with 5/8" stainless steel tamper-proof torx head screws. Hinge shall have internal spring which is adjustable to hold door open or closed. PILASTER SHOES: Pilaster shoes shall be one piece four (4) inches high and made from 20 gauge stainless steel. LATCH: Housing, slide bolt and button shall be fabricated from heavy aluminum extrusion (6463-T5 alloy) with bright dip anodized finish. Latch shall be surface mounted to door with stainless steel tamper resistant torx screws. Handicap doors shall be slotted to permit emergency access. PLASTIC TOILET PARTITIONS 10161 - 2 NEW FIRE STATION #7 FOR CITY OF CARLSBAD STRIKE AND KEEPER: Strike and Keepers shall be three (3) inches long and fabricated from heavy aluminum extrusion (6463-T5 alloy) with bright dip anodized finish, wrap around flange and surface mounted to pilaster with stainless steel tamper resistant torx screws. Pulls: Install pull handles on each side of HC stall door. Coat Hook/Bumper: One per door except HC stall. At HC stall install coat hook on panel beside door @ 54” A.F.F. Installation of coat hook on door of accessible stall will cause replacement of door at contractor’s expense. PART 3 - EXECUTION INSTALLATION: Erection of toilet partitions shall be in accordance with the manufacturer=s recommendations and the following: All parts shall be erected in a substantial manner, straight, level and plumb. All doors and panels shall be mounted 12 inches above the finished floor. Clearance at vertical edges of doors shall be uniform top to bottom and shall not exceed 3/16 of an inch. No evidence of drilling, cutting or patching shall be visible on the finished work. Finished surfaces shall be cleaned after installation and left free of imperfections.
