To open the building:
Unlock and remove the iron bar across the front door – you will be given a current 4-digit code for the padlock on the bar. Please note that the keyed lock on the front is for emergency use only, and current keys will NOT work in this lock. The door can still be bolted from the inside only.
To unlock the padlock: o Set the combination code on the lock. o Press the lock together to release the latch. o Clear the combination code from the lock.
The keypad to the left of the inside doors will sound a tone, warning to disarm the alarm system and the keypad will display ENTER CODE: Enter your user code.
The keypad will display ALL? NO YES. Select YES.
NOTE: you make selections when requested by using the top row of keys on the keypad. Press the key under the selection you want to make. The back arrow key on the bottom row can be used to erase a character or to back up through functions in the menu on the display.
The keypad will display ALL SYSTEM OFF when the system is disarmed.
Note: you must disarm the system within 60 seconds or an alarm will occur.
To close and secure the building:
Put away ALL equipment. o Obedience jump boards should be stored on wall brackets, not left standing against the wall. This is how things get broken. o Agility jumps should be hung on the walls. o Chairs should be returned to the walls. o Ring gating should be set up in normal configuration. It is very time-consuming for instructors to have to set up ring gates before teaching the early classes.
Bolt the rear exit door and both side exit doors. Check these bolts even if you don’t think you used these doors.
Be sure that the closet is padlocked, even if you didn’t use it.
Set the thermostats: o In summer, all 3 thermostats should be set to 85º (Cool). o In winter, left and right thermostats should be set to 50º (Heat), and the middle one should be off.
Turn off all inside lights. This includes the closet, the kitchen, and the bathrooms.
Arm the alarm system from the keypad: o Press the COMMAND key until ARM DISARM displays. Select ARM. o Enter your user code when prompted. o The display will read ALL? NO YES. Select YES. o If the system beeps and you get a FAULT message, it probably means one of the exit doors is not properly closed. Select STOP to stop the process. Go back and check ALL exit doors. Then restart the arming process. Remember that the main exit door must be closed as well. o The display will then indicate that the system is on and begin an exit countdown in seconds. o You have 60 seconds to exit the building.
The outside lights are on an automatic timer. Please do not touch.
Exit and close the door. Replace and lock the iron bar.
To lock the padlock: o Ensure the lock is open. o Be sure the combination code is cleared from the lock. o Attach the lock to the iron bar ensuring the numbers can be read correctly when lock is flipped up. o Secure the lock by pressing together. (Pull down on lock to ensure it’s locked.)
