Kaiser Screen Mod Warning: It would void your warranty and may cause permanent damage your phone. Only do it on your own risk.
Tools needed: precision Phillips Screwdriver (the one you repair your glasses), T7, T6 star (torx) screwdriver, sharp knife.
Remove back cover, battery, stylus. Use Torx T7 to remove 3 screws.
Use nail to remove the cover (a bit difficult. Try not to use hard tool to jack up the cover, it may leave some marks on the plastic)
It would be difficult to remove the cover at the first time as it’s glued.
Take out the rubber.
Undo the screw
Jack up and take out wheel PCB
Now undo another screw
Use your fingers and nail to remove the outside frame. Start with the right and left side and the top. Leave the button at last.
This is how it looks like when you get it done.
Undo the screw on the left, remove the belt on the right.
On the other side, remove the belt.
Now take away the main board, leave it at a safe place.
Undo the 4 screws.
Detach the screen
Now take the screen, remove 6 screws with Torx T6
Try to detach the metal from the body, it’s locked by two hard plastic. Do it carefully as you may damage the fragile plastic.
When you take out the metal cover, remove the two tiny rubbers sit on the end of the rail. This make the screen can be slide out little bit further. Put the metal cover and screws back after your remove the rubber. The photo below was taken when the rubbers were removed. It also shows the position of the small rubber.
Now take the keyboard, turn it over, we need a sharp knife to cut two places carefully.
Cut it thin carefully.
Cut the other one.
This is how it looks like when looking from the keyboard side. No need to cut from this side.
Now attach the screen and 4 screws back on to lock it.
Slide the keyboard out. The keyboard can be slide out little bit further than usual.
Have a try, if the keyboard can be tilt to this angle easily, congratulations, remember to put everything back on, it’s only a reverse way of dissembling it. If not, try to cut the a little more on the plastic and try again.
