Antenna Mounting Instructions
TracVision® A5 Antenna Mounting Instructions for Standard Hummer® H2 Roof Rack Crossbars The instructions on the following pages explain how to mount the TracVision A5 antenna onto stock racks that are factoryinstalled on Hummer H2s. This mounting kit and instructions are intended only for mounting onto standard 2"-thick Hummer H2 roof rack crossbars. DO NOT use this kit or instructions to mount the antenna onto any other type of roof rack.
Materials and Equipment Required To mount the antenna to the roof rack, you will need the following tools and materials: ⁄4" driver

Mounting the Antenna Please follow the modified steps below to mount the antenna to the vehicle’s roof rack. 1. Position the roof rack’s crossbars 391⁄2" apart, measured center-to-center. Ensure that the crossbars are securely fastened to the vehicle.
Be sure the roof rack’s crossbars are locked in place.
2. Unlock and remove the end caps from both ends of the crossbars.

3. Remove the long rubber strips that run along the top of the crossbars.

4. Cut each rubber strip into three pieces of the following lengths: •
One 261⁄4" Strip
•
Two 19" Strips
5. At each crossbar, follow the steps below to prepare for antenna mounting: a. At one end of the crossbar, insert the end of a 261⁄4" rubber strip into the center channel and slide the strip along the channel until it is positioned in the middle of the crossbar. b. At each end of the crossbar, insert a T-nut (supplied in this kit) into the center channel and slide the nut along the channel until it touches the end of the long rubber strip.

c. At each end of the crossbar, insert the end of a 19" rubber strip into the center channel and slide the strip along the channel until it touches the square nut.

d. Reinstall the end caps that you removed in Step 2.

TORX Screw Head
6. Underneath each of the antenna’s four corners, attach a Hummer mounting bracket (supplied in this kit) using three 1⁄4"-20 x 1" button-head TORX® screws (supplied in the kitpack). Use a 1⁄4" driver and the supplied T27 TORX bit to tighten the screws; do not overtighten.

For a safe installation, be sure to use all three TORX screws to attach each mounting bracket to the antenna. The TORX hardware is prepared with a thread-locking feature. Do not use any substitute hardware.
7. Cut and remove all of the shipping restraints located underneath the antenna. To remove these wire restraints, you will need to use heavy-duty wire cutters.

8. Place the antenna onto the roof rack, with the connector facing the rear of the vehicle. All four brackets should rest on top of the roof rack’s crossbars and the holes in the brackets should line up with the T-nuts in the crossbars.

9. At each bracket, place a 3⁄8" flat washer on a 3 ⁄8"-16 x 1" pin-in-hex screw and insert the screw through the bracket’s mounting hole and into the T-nut in the crossbar. Use a 1⁄4" driver and the supplied pin-in-hex bit to tighten the screws; do not overtighten.

Be sure to use the tamper-resistant pin-in-hex hardware provided in this mounting kit.

10. Complete the TracVision A5 installation process as directed in the TracVision A5 Installation Guide.
WARNING!

The pin-in-hex mounting screws are prepared with a thread-locking patch. If these screws are removed after their initial installation, the patch’s locking capacity will be degraded. Therefore, before reusing the mounting screws, you MUST apply threadlocker (Loctite 425) to the screw threads to avoid a potentially dangerous condition. Failure to apply threadlocker to the screw threads can result in unsecure mounting.
