Altum AC ™ Quick Start Guide Dual-Band Router Setup Step 1 - Connect your Altum AC to your Computer
To complete this Dual-Band Router Configuration you’ll need a Connectorized Altum AC radio, one PoE/Power Supply unit, three Ethernet cable, two N-Type male to RP-SMA female cables, two 2.4 & 5 GHz Omni antennas, and a computer. First connect an Ethernet cable from the Altum AC LAN port (port closest to LEDs) to the PoE injector port labeled PoE. Next, connect an Ethernet cable from the PoE injector port labeled LAN to your computer. Plug in the PoE to the AC outlet. On initial power up, two green LEDs will light up inside the radio.

Step 2 - Configure your Computer’s IP Settings
Before logging into your Altum AC radio, check the computer’s network settings. Configure your IP settings so that your computer is on the 192.168.1.x subnet range. In our example the computer is setup as 192.168.1.15

Step 4 - Setup 2.4 GHz Access Point 1 Under the Network > Wifi tab, click
for the 2.4 GHz radio.

2 Set Channel to Auto. 3 To Enable Wireless Network, Under Device Configuration > General Setup tab > Select 4 Set ESSID to whatever you want (e.g. Altum AP 2G, default is A600-2).

Step 5 - 2.4 GHz Device Configuration 1 Under Device Configuration > Advanced Settings tab > disable Auto-ACK timeout

Step 6 - Setup 2.4 GHz Wireless Security 1 Under Interface Configuration > Wirelss Security tab > setup 2.4 GHz Wireless Security. (WPA2-PSK recommended) 2 Key must be at least 8 characters.

Step 7 - Setup 5 GHz Access Point 1 Under the Network > Wifi tab, click

2 Country Code= US-PMP-2. 3 Mode= Access Point. 4 Set ESSID to whatever you want (e.g. Altum AP 5G, default is Trango_ALTUM_ac).

Step 11 - Setup DHCP Client on WAN 1 In Network > Interfaces > WAN, setup the WAN interface as a DHCP Client. Protocol: select DHCP Client. 2 Click

Step 12 - Setup DHCP Client on WAN 1 Connect data source (Internet) to WAN port. 2 Connect both pairs of the 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz Omni antennas onto the Altum AC. 3 At this point, devices will be able to connect to both the 5G or 2G AP. The Altum can be managed from wireless client at IP address 192.168.1.1 under the Status > Overview tab. After setting up the Wi-Fi you can now disconnect the ethernet cable from the computer and LAN port, and reconnect when the Altum management interface needs to be reaccessed through the wireless client.
