INSTRUCTIONS (ENGLISH) Introduction TM Thank you for purchasing this TrickleStar product. This product provides enhanced controls to reduce wasteful energy consumption of appliances, which do not include timing controls. RESET MANUAL MANUAL Manual Button Clock Program Button Button NOTE: The product contains a battery, which stores the settings and drives the Display. If the display is off when you plug in the product to a wall receptacle, then allow the product to charge for a short time and the text will gradually appear. Features Set Time The Product has the following key features: • Up to 8 ON and OFF programs a day / 56 ON and OFF programs per week. • Option to program individual days or 8 different weekday groups • Minimum switching period one minute • Manual override button • Random ON/OFF security feature • Countdown feature • 12 hour AM/PM display. • Summer/Winter time changeover • Rechargeable backup battery The product has a Summertime/Wintertime changeover function. The product is per default (and after reset) in Wintertime. If you purchase this unit during the summertime press the ‘HOURS’ and ‘MIN’ buttons simultaneously to switch to summertime and “S” will appear on the Display. Getting Started The product has an easy to use LCD display: To set the weekday and clock: 1. Press-and-hold the ‘CLOCK’ button 2. Press the ‘DAY’ button to set the weekday 3. Press the ‘HOUR’ button to set the hours 4. Press the ‘MIN’ button to set the minutes 5. Release the ‘CLOCK’ button If the ‘DAY’, ‘HOURS” or ‘MIN‘ button is pressed for more than 1 second the value will increase continuously while button is pressed. www.tricklestar.com © TrickleStar 505TT-US-W Program Timer Random On/Off Up to 8 ON/OFF switches can be configured. You can choose to make the ON/OFF switching identical for all weekdays, individual weekdays or groups of days as listed in the following table The Random On/Off feature can be used for security purposes by switching ON and OFF light to make the home look occupied when away. When enabled the Control Socket is switch ON and OFF in a random pattern at least once in every 8 hours. To enter Timer Mode and program the Timer: 1. Press the ‘PROG’ button to set the first ON program time. “ON” and the Number “1” appears in the lower left section of the display. 2. Press the ‘DAY’ button to choose the required day or block of days as indicated in Table 1. 3. Press the ‘HOUR’ button to set the hours 4. Press the ‘MIN’ button to set the minutes To switch between Random On/Off mode and normal Timer Mode press the ‘DAY’ and ‘HOURS’ buttons simultaneously to enter Random On/Off mode. An “R” will appear on the display when in Random On/Off mode. PM ON 7 46 29 R Manual Override You can choose permanent Manual ON, permanent Manual OFF, Auto ON and Auto OFF by pressing the Manual button. Each mode will be displayed on the screen. When you choose Auto ON the Control Socket will stay ON until a Timer OFF event occurs. When you choose Auto OFF the Control Socket will stay OFF until a Timer ON event occurs. Countdown The Countdown feature enables the Control Socket to be switched OFF after a defined period of time. To program the countdown: 1. Press ‘CLOCK’ and ‘PROG” button simultaneously. 2. Press the ‘HOURS’ and the ‘MIN’ buttons to set the countdown time. The maximum countdown period is 9 hours and 59 minutes. The minimum countdown period 1 minute. 3. Press the ‘MANUAL’ button to turn ON the Control Socket and start the countdown. Control Socket turns OFF when countdown timer expires. 5. 6. 7. 8. Press ‘PROG’ button to set the first OFF program time. “OFF” and the number “1” appears in the display. Press the ‘DAY’ button to choose day to switch OFF. If you have chosen a group of days for ON you should choose the same group of days for OFF. Press the ‘HOUR’ button to set the hours Press the ‘MINUTES’ button to set the minutes Countdown can be pause at anytime by pressing the ‘MANUAL’ button and re-start by press the ‘MANUAL’ button again. To review Clock press and hold the ‘CLOCK’ button, release the button to return to the countdown display. To return to the Timer Mode, press the ‘CLOCK’ and ‘PROG’ buttons simultaneously. Summertime/Wintertime Switchover To switch between Wintertime and Summertime press the ‘HOURS’ and ‘MIN’ buttons simultaneously. When in Summertime a “S” will appear on the display. PM ON 9. Repeat 1-8 if more ON/OFF times is to be set. 10. When you have set the required On Off settings, press the ‘CLOCK’ button to return the display to the clock. The timer is now ready to operate. You can check the settings you have programmed by pressing the ‘PROG’ button repeatedly – each setting will appear on the screen. 7 46 29 S NOTE: The product is per factory default (and after reset) in wintertime. If you purchase this unit during the summertime, first switch to summertime before setting the date and clock. Switch to Summertime by pressing the ‘HOURS’ and ‘MIN’ buttons simultaneously and “S” will appear on the Display. www.tricklestar.com © TrickleStar 505TT-US-W Restore Factory Defaults Press the Reset Button to clear all timer settings. Time will be “AM 12:00”, “PROG OFF” and the Control Socket will be Off. Battery The product contains a rechargeable battery to store settings if power is removed. If no text is displayed plug the product into a wall receptacle for 1 hour to recharge the battery. If the battery is fully discharged, the factory defaults will be restored.
