Eye protection is required to guard against flying fasteners and debris, which could cause severe eye injury. The employer and/or user must ensure that proper eye protection is worn. Eye protection equipment must conform to the requirements of the American National Standards Institute, ANSI Z87.1 and provide both frontal and side protection. NOTE: Nonside shielded spectacles and face shields alone do not provide adequate protection. Always disconnect air supply: 1.) Before making adjustments; 2.) When servicing the tool; 3.) When clearing a jam; 4.) When tool is not in use; 5.) When moving to a different work area, as accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury. Do not use gasoline or similar highly flammable liquids to clean the nailer. Vapor in the nailer could be ignited by a spark causing the tool to explode. When working on air tools, note the warnings and cautions in this guide and in the Operation and Maintenance Manual covering the specific tool. USE EXTRA CARE WHEN EVALUATING PROBLEM TOOLS. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1.) Remove trigger assembly screw or spring pin. Pin punch is provided to remove spring pins. Note proper location of trigger assembly components and remove trigger assembly. 2.) 3.) Remove the pin (or pins, some models have two) retaining the trigger valve assembly in the frame. Pull out valve assembly. NOTE: If valve assembly is stuck in frame, hold rag over assembly and use blow gun to blow air into airline fitting. Valve assembly will pop out. 4.) Check that no parts from old valve are left in place. 5.) Lightly grease o-ring on orifice cap. Press the orifice cap into the bore in the tool (see fig. 2). 6.) Remove clear plastic shrink wrap from valve by tearing off at perforation. NOTE: This wrap must be removed before valve is installed in tool. 7.) Lightly grease o-rings on new valve assembly. Align spring pin groove (grooves) in the valve 8.) Check to see that both valve pins are in place before installing new valve (see fig.1). with spring pin holes in frame. Carefully insert the new valve assembly squarely into the valve hole (o-rings may be damaged if valve is forced into the hole). 9.) Use pin punch to make sure frame and valve holes are aligned and reinstall trigger valve assembly spring pin (pins). 10.) Check to see that valve stem moves freely. Install trigger assembly as noted in step 1, using spring pin or screw. 11.) Test tool for operation according to instructions in Operator's Manual for the specific model of tool and check for air leakage. fig.1 ORIFICE CAP TRIGGER VALVE ASSEMBLY SPRING PIN (PINS) fig.2 SPRING PIN GROOVE TRIGGER ASSEMBLY SPRING PIN OR SCREW VALVE PINS VALVE STEM NOTE: Both valve pins must be in place before valve is installed in tool. 106088REVD 8/03 Litho in U.S.A.
