English Read the instructions carefully before installation and commis sioning! Leave the instructions for users/ customers for future reference! Our continually updated pro duct documentation can be accessed at www.erco.com/download. General safety information Warning! Risk of electrocution! Before carrying out maintenance and installation on the luminaire, disconnect from the mains supply and also from any other DALI control wiring, and ensure that all power is switched off. - Do not operate luminaires with damaged or missing protective covers. - Do not open luminaire head. If damaged, the entire luminaire must be ret urned to the factory. - When installing, always observe the national installation and accident prevention regulations. Intended use The luminaire is suitable for use in dry interiors only. - The luminaire is approved for wall mounting only. Choosing the mounting location Luminaires with LED modules must be positioned so as to avoid operation in direct sunlight or near other sources of heat. High ambient temperatures red uce the life and efficiency of the control gear or LED module. Electrical installation The connector is prepared for through-wiring (looping in). - To avoid any damage to the electronic control gear on a 3-circuit installation, the neutral conductor of electronic control gear must never be interrupted. Over-voltage protection To protect electronic components from overload, e.g. when switching inductive loads, separate excess voltage protection devices can be used (e.g. ERCO 83819), connected in parallel on the input side. Luminaire with DALI control gear - This luminaire requires a DALI signal for control. - Installing a DALI system requires electrical knowledge and should only be carried out by a trained specialist. - All cables, materials and devices used must be suitable for mains voltage, as the DALI signal is not transmitted using safety extra low voltage (SELV).
- For general information on DALI, please go to: www.dali-ag.org. Varychrome RGBW For control via a DALI system with colour management, the signal input has a DALI interface with one address for the luminaire. When operated with a system without colour management, 3 addresses are used for each luminaire. The colour compensation guarantees that exactly the same colour of light is obtained from all controlled luminaires which have the same DALI control settings.
Disposal In accordance with EU Directive WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), luminaires must not be disposed of with other household waste. At the end of their life, luminaires must be taken to the appropriate local facility available for the disposal or recycling of electronic products.
Cut-off shield The cut-off shield restricts the projected beam to the precise ceiling area to be illuminated. Note: Do not use the cut-off shield for varychrome RGBW because of resulting colour shadowing. Dimming Depending on the model, the luminaire can be dimmed using a suitable dimmer (trailing edge) or via DALI. Trailing-edge dimmer Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions. For some products, the luminaire or dimmer can only be switched on in the upper dimming range. Before installation and connection, check luminaire, control gear and dimmer combination for proper functioning of the dimmer, especially when using universal dimmers. The use of dimmers which are unsuitable for LED drivers can damage the luminaire, control gear and/or the dimmer. No responsibility is accepted for the use of dimmers that are unsuitable for the luminaire. Operating instructions for LED luminaires Replacement of LED modules If an LED module fails, the entire luminaire must be returned to the factory. For operational safety reasons, LED modules must be replaced at the factory. Flashing of the LED module It is normal for the LED module to flicker when switching on and off. Cleaning Before cleaning, disconnect from mains supply and allow luminaire to cool! - Regular cleaning is essential. The required intervals and methods depend on the mounting location, the mounting situation and the ambient conditions. - Clean with a damp, soft cloth. Cleaning the Spherolit lenses Always use a soft cloth and a commercially available, ph-neutral, alcoholfree, non-abrasive cleaning agent. Spherolit lenses are made of optical polymers and are sensitive to alcohol and abrasives. 3000040157
