OPERATION MANUAL UFH-DDAEX Digital Distribution Amplifier 1st Edition Precautions Important Safety Warnings [Power] Stop Do not place or drop heavy or sharp-edged objects on power cord. A damaged cord can cause fire or electrical shock hazards. Regularly check power cord for excessive wear or damage to avoid possible fire / electrical hazards. [Circuitry Access] Stop Do not touch any parts / circuitry with a high heat factor. Capacitors can retain enough electric charge to cause mild to serious shock, even after power is disconnected. Capacitors associated with the power supply are especially hazardous. Avoid contact with any capacitors. Hazard Unit should not be operated or stored with cover, panels, and / or casing removed. Operating unit with circuitry exposed could result in electric shock / fire hazards or unit malfunction. [Potential Hazards] Caution If abnormal smells or noises are noticed coming from the unit, turn power off immediately and disconnect power cord to avoid potentially hazardous conditions. If problems similar to above occur, contact authorized service representative before attempting to again operate unit. [Consumables] Caution The consumables used in unit must be replaced periodically. For further details on which parts are consumables and when they should be replaced, refer to the specifications at the end of the Operation Manual. Since the service life of the consumables varies greatly depending on the environment in which they are used, they should be replaced at an early date. For details on replacing the consumables, contact your dealer. Upon Receipt Unpacking UFH-DDAEX modules and their accessories are fully inspected and adjusted prior to shipment. Operation can be performed immediately upon completing all required connections and operational settings. Check your received items against the packing lists below. It can be installed in the UFH-108A or UFH-112A system frame. By connecting to the UFH-70DDA rear module, it can distribute two systems of one input into seven outputs.  Supports HD SDI and SD SDI (auto-detection).  Automatic cable compensation function for up to SD SDI 200m (using 5C-2V cable) and HD SDI 100m (using 5C-FB cable).  Re-clock function.  Input signal auto-recognition and detection of HD SDI and SD SDI.  Supports DVB-ASI by changing the internal setting. 1-3. About This Manual This manual is intended to help the user easily operate this product and make full use of its functions during operations. Before connecting or operating your unit, read this operation manual thoroughly to ensure you understand the product. After reading, it is important to keep this manual in a safe place and available for reference. 1 2. For HD-SDI/SD-SDI video output signal connection. Distributes one signal input into seven outputs. 3. Connection The figure below shows how to connect UFH-DDAEX to other devices. Note that before installing the UFH-DDAEX module into the UFH-108A or UFH-112A system frame, you should thoroughly read the operation manual for the system frame. Power On 1) Loosen the two knob screws on the front panel face of the system frame, and then grasp the knob screws to pull them out. Video Input Setting The I/O signal setting can be set to SD-SDI/HD-SDI or DVB-ASI by changing the switch on the rear module. The switch setting must be made prior to installing UFH-DDAEX to the UFH-108A/UFH-112A system frame. The factory default setting is VIDEO. To input a DVB-ASI signal, be sure to change the setting to DVB. Otherwise, the signal is not output properly. If the setting is changed to DVB, the DVB-ASI indicator on the front panel lights up.
