SIMATIC RF-DIAG – fast and simple Siemens provides the software tool SIMATIC RF-DIAG for simple commissioning and maintenance of the SIMATIC RF620R and RF630R readers: the tool enables the optimum alignment of the antennas to the read points in a very short time and supports the user with error diagnostics during operation. Convenient commissioning and maintenance The SIMATIC RF-DIAG software offers a range of functions for simple setup and comprehensive analysis of a read point:
Highlights Fast and uncomplicated commissioning of read points as well as reduced maintenance and installation costs due to: Simple handling of parameter settings by means of intuitive user interface Convenient visualization of characteristic values Support with firmware updates Function tests without S7 connection Testing and parameter assignment of new algorithms
Detection of the optimum antenna and transponder position with a specialized live display of the quality data of the read points Convenient configuration of intelligent filters and algorithms with intuitive user interfaces Diagnostics and optimization of read points with a live display of the effect of changes to reader parameters on the read result Testing of transponder data reading and writing processes (EPC ID, user data, etc.)
Technical specifications
Flexible connection options The scope of delivery includes a PC adapter for RF-DIAG which permits connection of the SIMATIC RF620R and RF630R readers to a PC. If the adapter is used in the communication cable between reader and communication module, it does not influence the function of the read point. As soon as a PC is connected to the adapter using a USB cable, reader communication is diverted to the PC; the reader power supply is still provided via the communication module. Power from an external power supply unit is possible for pure PC operation without communication module.
