I. INTRODUCTION Welcome to the Analog Outfitters Dealers Guidebook! Inside you will information regarding our company history, our products, and our confidential dealer price list. Analog Outfitters is a rapidly growing boutique amplifier company that builds world-class guitar amplifiers, speaker cabinets, and related products. Our manufacturing process is truly unique in that the vast majority of our raw materials come from unwanted or otherwise obsolete organs made by such manufacturers as Baldwin, Hammond, and Wurlitzer. These companies manufactured their organs with the best materials available. As a result, all of our speaker cabinets are made from up-cycled wood from species such as mahogany, redwood, walnut, and maple. Additionally, our amplifiers benefit from the use of vintage output transformers that impart a classic tone unrivaled by companies who are forced to use modern output transformers. Analog Outfitters products are sold worldwide and we are actively seeking to expand our dealer network. II. OUR STORY Analog Outfitters officially began in 2002 in a basement workshop in Champaign, IL. Ben Juday had spent the three previous years at the University of Illinois pursuing a graduate degree in Geography with the ultimate goal of being a college professor. In 2000, Ben had the great fortune of meeting physics professor Steve Errede who was teaching a class entitled “Physics of Electronic Musical Instruments”. Ben asked Professor Errede if he could sit in on the course, and they became fast friends and Errede became an unofficial mentor to Ben. 15 years later, this collaborative relationship continues with Errede playing an integral design role in almost all of Analog Outfitters products. From 2002 through 2011, Analog Outfitters specialized in repairs and live sound. These 9 years were formative in giving the team at Analog Outfitters a thorough understanding of the technical side of the music business. After repairing thousands of pieces of equipment, the team learned what designs stood up to the rigors of the road, and what designs failed after 6 months. In 2011, Ben Juday decided to build a custom amplifier for fun with no intentions of starting an amplifier business. He had hundreds of old Hammond organ amplifiers lying around the shop, as well as some old signs and some empty scientific equipment cases. After much trial and error, the first Sarge amplifier was born. The rest, as they say, is history.
III. AMPS, COMBOS, CABS & EFFECTS
THE SARGE Enclosed in a durable case constructed from recycled steel, the Sarge is built tough and durable, and is small enough to fit on any cabinet. The amplifier is powered by two EL84 power tubes, two 12AX7s in a preamp setting and a 5Y3 rectifier. This allows the Sarge to provide a gritty and authoritative tone that is able to make itself heard regardless of the composition of the sound. Highly versatile in its application, the Sarge is able to provide tones ranging from clean to screaming, with a distinct tweed-styled tone.

ORGANIC 15 Using original Hammond chassis and transformers as a foundation, we’ve added a preamp SPECS: and tone-stack loosely based on a Blackface Deluxe Reverb. THE SUPER SARGE The Super Sarge uses four EL84 power tubes to double the power of Analog Outfitters’ SPECS: flagship product, the Sarge. This model resulted from a collaborative effort between (4) EL84 POWER TUBES Analog Outfitters and Nels Cline of Wilco.

Looking for an amplifier with the tone of the Sarge but cleaner headroom for live (1) 5U4 RECTIFIER applications, Nels helped shape the final version into an amp that is equally at home in 4 OR 8 OHMS OUTPUT IMPEDthe studio or on stage. THE ROAD AMP The Road Amp is a 6V6 based amplifier that has an “American” tone reminiscent of early Fender amplifiers. The Road Amp is specifically designed to be tough, with its outer shell constructed from decommissioned road signs. Having proven themselves for decades on the side of America’s streets, these signs were re-purposed as the unique cases for our new line of amplifiers.

ORGANIC 15 COMBO This 15 watt combo is a skillful new mixture of Analog Outfitters’ flagship Organic 15 amp SPECS: and a 2x10 ORGANic speaker cabinet. Ideal for any style of music or instrument, this (2) EL84 POWER TUBES combo amp offers a new take on the rich tone of the Sarge amplifier.

ORGANIC 30 COMBO A perfect blend of the Super Sarge tone and a 1x12 ORGANic cabinet, this 30 Watt amp SPECS: will make a striking addition to your arsenal. Continuing Analog Outfitters mission to build amplifiers utilizing re-purposed materials, (1) 12AU7 PHASE INVERTER we constructed a metal road sign cabinet and lined the inner case with wood. This gives TUBE the Road Amp Combo the capacity to retain the full tone of an AO cabinet along with the (1) 5U4GB RECTIFIER TUBE striking exterior of the road signs.

THE SCANNER We had two goals in mind when building The Scanner: to create the best sounding product SPECS: available and to manufacture it with re-purposed, sustainable materials. The Scanner ¼” INPUT JACK features an unparalleled vibrato and reverb sound.

The science behind The Scanner is where the magic happens. Applying the audio signal to a delay circuit produces 9 phase-shifted copies of the signal, thus creating a vibrato effect. These signals are applied to capacitive plates mounted inside the scanner assembly. A rotating armature then “picks up” the phase shifted signals off of the plates, producing an incredibly rich vibrato sound. The sound is addictive, with a warm analog feel and a dimensionality that has to be experienced to be fathomed.

1X12 CABINET The 1x12 cabinet has considerable pack for its punch and gives off an unexpectedly SPECS: full and rich sound despite utilizing only one speaker. 2X12 CABINET All Analog Outfitters cabinets have a warm vintage sound thanks to the fact that they are SPECS: built from salvaged Hammond organs, but the 2x12 cabinet has the richest and fullest 1/4” INPUT JACK body.
