correctly positioned and is sufficiently taut. • Use only original Concord restraint system components. The use of accessories that are not authorised by the manufacturer can seriously compromise the child’s safety. • Any modification you make to the baby carrier or its belt system can seriously impair the safety of the product and must therefore be avoided. • Ensure before each journey that any items of luggage or other articles that could cause injury to passengers in the event of emergency braking are adequately secured or stowed away. • The CONCORD PROTON baby carrier must always be secured using the vehicle safety belt, even if there is no child in it. In the event of emergency braking, the unsecured carrier could cause injury to persons inside the vehicle. • Never hold the child in your arms when travelling or seat it outside the baby

_ ADJUSTING THE BACKREST The CONCORD PROTON baby carrier has a backrest that can be fluidly adjusted using the rotary knob (07). You can pull the rotary knob out to make it easier to turn.
ATTENTION If you wish to use the baby carrier in its function as a child restraint system in the car, you must always adjust the backrest to its lowest position (flat).

_ SECURING ON THE FRAME OF A CONCORD BUGGY (equipped with the ProFix system) To secure the CONCORD PROTON baby carrier to a frame, position the baby carrier such that the child’s head is facing forwards (in the direction of travel) and insert the adaptors (12) into the receivers provided on the frame so that they click audibly into position. To release the baby carrier from its fastenings, press and hold the release button (02) on the carrying handle and pull the carrier up and away from the frame.
40
41
_ USE IN A CAR • Move the backrest on the CONCORD PROTON baby carrier to its lowest position (flat). • Adjust the carrying handle to position P2 (vertically upright). • The baby carrier must only be placed on the rear seat of the car. There are three ways to install the baby carrier: in the centre, using the diagonal belts of the two outer seats, or on one of the outer seats using the outer and a centre diagonal belt. You can only secure the baby carrier with two diagonal belts running in diametrically opposed directions (such as on the two outer seats on the car’s rear seat bench). We recommend when installing the baby carrier on one of the two outer seats that it should be positioned such that the child’s head is pointing towards the centre of the car and is therefore as far as possible from the car door.
42
43
• Secure the two diagonal belts relevant to the seat you have chosen in their respective belt buckle so that the belts lie evenly and closed on the back seat bench. • Place the baby carrier on the back seat bench. • Open the belt adaptor (11) by pushing the safety catch to the side.
44
• Pull the diagonal lap belts out until you can feed them from the bottom upwards into the belt adaptors. • Close the side safety catches on the adaptors again. • The diagonal belts now run from above through the closed vehicle belt buckles, then through the closed belt adaptors (from bottom to top) into the bracket on the vehicle.
45
• Now pull the entire restraint system taut by pulling the diagonal shoulder belts upwards until the belts are taut along their entire length. • The belts must not be twisted or creased at any point along their length. • Lay the child at full length in the baby carrier and check that it is lying comfortably. Position the stomach belt (05) carefully around the child’s pelvis and waist and tighten it carefully.
46
• To release the restraint system, open the safety catches on the belt adaptors. • To remove the belt adaptors from the baby carrier, pull the plastic cover out so that you can easily unhook the belt adaptor. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact your specialist dealer. He will be happy to assist.

_ USING THE SUNSHADE
_ VENTILATION
The sunshade (03) on the CONCORD PROTON baby carrier can be removed separately. To do this, simply open the zips (09) on the left and right of the carrying handle. For improved ventilation you can open the zip (08) in the back of the sunshade.
You will find a lever (13) on the bottom of the baby carrier with which to open and close the ventilation slots in the base of the carrier.

_ CARE AND MAINTENANCE
_ general INFORMATION
Clean plastic parts with lukewarm water and washing up liquid and then dry them carefully.
• This is a “universal“ child restraint system. It has been tested and approved pursuant to ECE Regulation 44, Amendment series 03 for general use in vehicles and will fit in most, but not all cars. • It may be assumed that the system has been fitted correctly if the vehicle manufacturer states in the owner’s handbook that the vehicle is suitable for fitting a “universal“ child restraint system for the relevant age group. • This restraint system has been classified pursuant to stricter conditions of the “universal“ class than previous models which do not bear this label. • If you have any doubts at all, please ask the manufacturer of the child restraint system or your retailer. • Only suitable for vehicles with three-point seat belts, which have been tested and approved pursuant to ECE Regulation 16 or an equivalent standard.
The cover may be removed and washed at a max. temperature of 30° C, preferably by hand. Then leave the cover to air dry in a shady place. The seat cover should not be given prolonged exposure to sunlight as this could impair the fabric colour.
