Thank you for investing in our HDMI MATRIX routing unit. This router allows you to choose between four different HDMI sources and relay them independently to two HDMI display devices. The router switches both audio and video to a very high quality and features an easily accessible HDMI C socket located on the front panel. (This connection is common amongst the latest generation of HD video cameras and some games consoles) PLEASE NOTE YOU CANNOT SEND THE SAME INPUT TO BOTH OUTPUTS AT THE SAME TIME INSTALLATION • • • • • • Connect all the HDMI sources (eg DVD player or set top box) using high quality HDMI leads from the source into the MATRIX input sockets (clearly labelled HDMI IN). Connect one or both of the two outputs to your display devices using the two HDMI sockets marked HDMI OUT1 and HDMI OUT2. Please note for longer output runs the quality of the HDMI lead becomes even more crucial in determining your final picture quality. We produce very high quality HDMI leads that will carry signals up to 40m with 1080p picture resolution for this purpose. Connect the power supply to the MATRIX router and the mains supply. Press either Power/Selection switch on the front panel until the blue LED switches on. Once the LED is on, the unit is ready for use. Make sure that you turn on the correct output. If you are using Output1 to connect to the display device press and hold OUT1 until one of the OUT1 row of LEDs switches on. If you are using Output 2 then press and hold OUT2 until one of the OUT2 row of LEDs switches on. When using both outputs, turn on the MATRIX with either button. Once the LED is on then turn on the second output by pressing the appropriate switch. HOW IT WORKS • • • • When the power is turned on, the router automatically scans the inputs looking for an active HDMI input signal. Once an input is detected the input LED will remain illuminated on that input. If you have more than one input connected then press the appropriate Power/Selection switch to select the required input for that output or choose the required input using the supplied remote control. If the next HDMI has no input, the device will automatically jump to the next active HDMI input. If no active HDMI signals are detected the LED will flash continuously whilst hunting for an active input. If a selected input has the HDMI source switched off the router will automatically continue to search for the next active HDMI input. To turn power off, press and hold the Power/Selection switch on the front panel for 3 seconds. FAULT FINDING Problem Possible situation and solution LED is not on Check the power adaptor to make sure it is plugged in. Check the power chord to make sure it is plugged in. No picture or sound Make sure your DVD movie is an original because HDMI has HDCP Protection to prevent illegal viewing. Check your HDMI leads. Ensure they are fully pushed in. In the case of long Chord HDMIs make sure the red plug is at the source end. Confirm wiring and check inputs/outputs are not reversed! Picture but no sound Make sure DVD or TV input is not set to DVI. Make sure HDMI cable version is above 1.1. Press the SELECT switch on the front panel to select correct input. Remote control not working Change remote control battery. Make sure there is nothing in front of the IR receiver. Unable to change inputs on the front panel Make sure that both selector switches are free and click when pressed. Switch the router off, wait 10 seconds and switch back on again. CONTENTS: 1 x Chord HDMI MATRIX box 1 x Remote Control with batteries 1 x Power Adaptor 1 x Manual HDMI: High-Definition Multimedia Interface. This has been jointly developed by the major manufacturers to provide a standard connection for HDTV and the consumer electronics market. HDMI is the first and only digital interface to combine uncompressed high-definition video, multi-channel audio and intelligent format and command data in a single digital interface. The quality of your HDMI cable therefore can impact on all aspects of your home cinema performance. On a general note, HDMI cables are carrying very high rates of data information. When installing these leads it is always good practice to treat them with care. Avoid kinking and crushing the HDMI cables as this will inevitably result in loss of performance and in extreme circumstances can result in loss of picture.
