1 lap belt forming the 2 points

Belts can be retractable or static and are certified to ISO10542 standard requirements (more information page 6).

Split Reel Double Inertia ( Ref. OCR01) OCR01 is a double reel shoulder and lap belt integrated in a same box for an easy use and wellbeing of the occupant.

Three point static lapbelt & retractable diagonal (Ref. 2xSLR025 – OCR03) Fully automatic and one hand operated reel to secure quickly and safely wheelchairs.
The design incorporates a new ergonomic handle, which can be easily tightened for optimal safety.

The headrest provides head support for wheelchair users. When used during transport, the headrest can reduce the risk of whiplash in case of accident.

All products are designed, tested and produced in their factory situated in the south-west of England. They employ 61 persons (2015). Unwin invested in a dynamic test laboratory, unique on the market. This laboratory allows our customers partners to develop, test and approve vehicles in conformity with 2007/46/EC and ISO 10542 standards. ISO10542 standard, reference of the European Directives, submit minimum required conditions for wheelchair and occupant restraint systems. See below a brief summary of these specifications. Basic system specifications:
4 anchor points have to secure the wheelchair inside the vehicle
Passenger must be facing front of the vehicle Passenger must have a 3 point seatbelt: a shoulder belt and a lap belt.
A dynamic test of 20g (20 times body’s weigh) is realized for the approval with a 85kg wheelchair and a 75kg mannequin. See below the acceptance/ refusal criteria: During test:
Head front throwing : <650mm Knee front throwing: <375mm Wheelchair front throwing: <200mm Report between knee throwing and wheelchair throwing: >1.1:1
After test:
No structural failure of anchor systems or fixture accessories Passenger must be released without using tools Wheelchair must be released without using tools
Attention: An anchor system approved to ISO10542 doesn’t mean that it can be installed in vehicles. In fact, the anchor point resistance on vehicles used must also be tested and approved.
