Upgrading the ITP 5000 series A quick reference guide Samsung Business Communications Updated 26/06/04 Page 1 of 4 ITP Handsets FTP Server PC Scanners MGI Servers LAN Printers Workstations or desktop PCs Customer network backbone ITP handsets request software from FTP server Samsung Business Communications Updated 26/06/04 Page 2 of 4 This document describes the procedure required to upgrade the ITP-5000 range of IP handsets. It should also be noted that the procedure is the same for the ITP-5014D/ITP5021D and the ITP-5012L, although the software is different. Before upgrading your ITP handset, make sure that the phone is fully running on the OfficeServ 500, it has a valid IP address and is connected to the network. Installation and operation of Solarwinds TFTP Server. 1. Install Solarwinds on your TFTP server PC. 2. Run the program. 3. Click on File then Configure 4. Click on the security tab and set as below: 5. Select the TFTP Root Directory tab. 6. Select the correct folder with the appropriate software for the required ITP handset and click OK. The ITP_5012l is for the Large Display handset and ITP_50xxd is for the 14 and 21 button handset. Samsung Business Communications Updated 26/06/04 Page 3 of 4 Copying the software to the handset. 1. The running and work ITP handset must now be switched off and repowered while pressing and hold the Menu key. 2. Once in the menu, select 3. Load and Upgrade and press Enter. 3. Select option 3. Upgrade Bootrom. 4. You will then be asked to enter the TFTP server IP address. This is the address that Solarwinds is currently running on. 5. Once you have entered the IP address, press Enter. The bootrom will now upgrade. 6. Use the same process to upgrade 2. Upgrade Program. The server IP address will already be entered. 7.
