Acctons USB Serial Converter provides an easy way to connect USB ports to legacy RS232 interface peripherals. This USB Serial Converter lets you easily connect legacy PC peripherals from "outside the box," providing a significant advance in desktop cable management. This state-of-the-art, practical product provides ease-of-use benefits to PC users in the home, office, and on the road.
Supports Legacy Serial Devices
The USB Serial Converter supports serial transmission at all common legacy device bit rates such as those used for modems and serial printers. It uses standard USB cable and serial peripheral connectors for maximum compatibility with a USB-enabled PC, or via a USB hub (such as USB204A).
Convenient Bus-Powered Operation
The Serial Converter is bus powered, conveniently drawing power from a USB host, so no power supply is needed. As a USB low-power device, the Serial Converter draws less than 100mA from the upstream PC or hub. Compatibility with USB Specification 1.0 provides support for suspend and resume operations, as well as remote wake-on-ring.
Software Compatibility
Application software compatibility with legacy devices is enhanced through the Serial Converter's ability to enumerate as a PC COM port, and provide consistent identification with internal unique electronic serialization. A Windows-compatible device driver can be easily installed with the included utility program.
