Quick Start Guide LC-USB-TB485 USB to RS-485 Mini-Converter Introduction The LC-USB-TB485 connects RS-485 devices to USB in a space saving, USB port-powered package. The drivers should install automatically when the converter is plugged into an available USB port on your computer or USB hub. The device will show up as an additional COM port in the Windows Device Manager which is fully compatible with your Windows applications. Your computer will detect the device when you plug it in. If you are connected to the Internet you can get the drivers via Windows Update. This may take a few minutes. After connecting the device you can check Device Manager to learn which Com port number was assigned. (Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Ports/COM & LPT.) You can re-assign COM numbers by clicking the Advanced Settings button on the Port Settings screens.
