CDRW-944 Installation Manual Package content The CDRW-944 include the following items in this package: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. The CD drive assembly. USB cable A driver diskette for USB CD-ROM CD recording software AC line cord. If any item is missing please contact your dealer. System Requirement • A computer with USB port enable. • Windows 98 • Enabling the USB port Go to ‘Start’, ‘Setting’, ‘Control Panel’, ‘System’ under ‘General’ tab From ‘Device Manager’ tab look for USB devices as shown below. If the Universal serial bus controller is not on the list, refer to you computer User Manual. You may need to access the system configuration (CMOS setup, or BIOS setup) to enable the USB function. Contact your computer manufacturer for further assistance. Installation 1. 2. Connect the USB cable to the CD-ROM. Attached the AC line cord to the CDROM. Locate USB connector usually on the back of your computer. Connect USB cable to a connector on your computer. USB connector at the end of USB cable 3. USB port on PC ”Add New Hardware Wizard” window should show up. Click ‘Next’ to continue. 4. Select ‘Search for the best driver ..’ click ‘Next’ 5. Select “Floppy Disk Drive” then inserts the installation diskette label USB to IDE for Windows 98. Click ‘Next’ when ready to continue. 6. The ‘Add New Hardware Wizard’ should read the floppy and show the screen below. Click ‘Next’. 7. The computer will read and install drivers from diskette. Click ‘Finish’ 8. The Add New Hardware Wizard program will also detect another device “USB Bridge Module” and search for new driver. Click ‘Next’ to continue 9. Select ‘Search for best driver…’ then click ‘Next’ 10. Select Floppy as shown below. Make sure driver diskette is inserted and clicks ‘Next ‘ to continue. 11. The Add New Hardware Wizard should start reading the floppy and show the screen below. Click ‘Next’ to continue. 12. After the driver installation complete, click ‘Finish’ Verify your installation. 1. In ‘My Computer’ you should see another CD-ROM drive. 2. Go to ‘Start’, ‘Setting’, ‘Control Panel’, ‘System’ under ‘General’ tab From ‘Device Manager’ tab look for USB devices as shown below. Installing software In order to write any data or audio track on a CD-R or CD-RW disk you will need to install recording software. Insert the recording software CD-ROM into a CD drive the program will start and prompt you to select a program to use.
