IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following: 1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS IRON. 2. Use iron only for its intended use. 3. To protect against electrical shock, do not place cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid. 4. The iron should always be turned to “OFF” before plugging or unplugging from the outlet. Never yank the cord to disconnect from outlet, grasp plug and pull to disconnect. 5. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around the iron when storing. 6. Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying and when not in use. 7. Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electrical shock, do not disassemble the iron. Take it to an authorized service center for examination and or repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used. 8. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they have supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 9. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance. 10. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board. 11. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down as there may be hot water in the reservoir. 12. If the iron is not operating properly, disconnect from the power supply and have the iron serviced by an authorized service center. 13. The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface. 14. When placing iron in its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable. 15. The iron is not to be used if it is dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking. 16. Your iron is designed to rest on the heel rest. Do not leave the iron unattended. Do not set the iron on an unprotected surface, even if it is on its heel rest. 17. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate an iron on the same circuit with another high wattage appliance. 18. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the Maximum rating of the iron shall be used. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating. Care shall be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over. 19. This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into an AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet. CORD PLUG This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS 1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance. 2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet. 3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet. 4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced. 5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used: 1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and 2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY. IMPORTANT During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/or a slight odor. This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few more times.

Carefully unpack the iron and remove any protective films or stickers from the sole plate and the iron. Clean the sole plate with a soft cloth. When using the iron for the first time, test it on an old piece of fabric to ensure that the sole plate and water tank are completely clean.
FILLING THE WATER RESERVOIR • • •
This iron can be used with normal tap water. If the water in your area is particularly hard, it is advisable to use distilled or de-mineralized water to prevent the scale from forming on the critical point of the iron. Do not use water that has passed through a home water softening system. This type of water contains minerals that will decrease the performance and shorten the life of your iron.
FILLING: 1. Ensure that the iron is disconnected from the power supply before filling. Move the Steam Control Knob to the picture indicating NO STEAM and the Fabric Selection Dial to “OFF”. 2. Pour water into the water inlet to the “MAX” line on the water tank. Do not fill over this line in order to avoid spilling out of water. NOTE: Always pour any remaining water out of the water tank after use by turning the iron upside-down over a sink.
HOW TO USE YOUR IRON SETTING THE TEMPERATURE: Insert the plug into the wall outlet and stand the iron upright. Turn the Fabric Selection Dial to the desired setting. The desired setting has been reached when the pilot light has turned off. The pilot light will cycle on and off indicating the selection is being maintained. Always check first to see whether a label with ironing instructions is attached to the article to be ironed. Follow these instructions in all cases. If ironing instructions are missing but you do know the kind of fabric, the table on page 5 may help you. • • • • •

Sort the laundry out according to iron temperature first: wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc. Start ironing fabrics which require the lowest temperature and progress to fabric which require a higher temperature. The iron heats up quicker than it cools down. If the fabric consists of various types of fabrics, you should select the fabric with the lowest temperature requirement and iron on that temperature setting. 100% wool fabric may be pressed with the iron set to a steam position. Ideally, set the Steam Control Dial to maximum position and use a dry pressing cloth. When ironing woolen fabrics, shining of the fabric may occur. This may be prevented by turning the garmet inside out and ironing on the reverse side. Velvet and other textures which rapidly acquire shiny spots should be ironed in one direction only (with the nap) applying light pressure.

Always keep the iron moving. Silk and other fabrics likely to become shiny should be ironed on the reverse side. To prevent staining, do not use Spray on silk or other delicate fabrics. TEXTILE

SPRAYING: This function can be used any time and it does not affect the ironing temperature. Fill the iron with water as described on page 4. Aim the nozzle toward the garmet and press the Spray Button. BURST OF STEAM: This function provides and extra amount of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Fill the iron with water as described on page 4. Turn the Fabric Selection Dial to “MAX”. Press the Burst of Steam button and steam will penetrate into the garment from the vents in the soleplate. STEAM IRONING: This function can be used only at higher temperature settings. Fill the iron with water as described on page 4. Turn the Fabric Selection Dial to desired setting. Turn the Steam Control Dial to the desired position and steam will start coming out from the vents in the soleplate. NOTE: With convention steam ironing, water may leak from the soleplate if too low a temperature has been selected. If this happens, turn the Fabric Selection Dial to the advised position. Steam will recommence as soon as the appropriate temperature has been reached. DRY IRONING: This function can be used when steam is not needed. Make sure the Steam Control Dial is set to the picture indicating NO STEAM before you begin. Turn the Fabric Selection Dial to the desired setting.
CARE AND CLEANING This appliance contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer it to qualified service personnel if servicing is needed.

SELF-CLEAN FUNCTION: This function can be used to self clean your iron and remove scale and impurities. Use the self-clean function once every two weeks. If the water in your area is very hard, the self-clean function should be used more frequently. 1. Make sure the appliance is unplugged. 2. Set the Steam Control Knob to the far left position “Self-Clean”. 3. Fill the water tank to the maximum level. 4. Select the maximum ironing temperature. 5. Plug into wall outlet. 6. Unplug the iron when the temperature pilot light has gone out. 7. Hold the iron over the sink and gently shake the iron back and forth. (Steam and boiling water will come out of the soleplate. Impurities and flakes (if any) will be flushed out.) 8. Repeat if necessary. CLEANING: • Before cleaning, ensure that the iron is disconnected from the power supply and has completely cooled down. • Deposits and other residues on the soleplate can be removed with a rough cloth soaked in a vinegar/water solution. • The main iron body may be wiped with a damp cloth and then polished with a dry cloth. • Do not use abrasives on the soleplate. STORAGE: • Before storing, turn the Fabric Selection Dial to “OFF” and the Steam Control Knob to the picture indicating NO STEAM. • Ensure that the iron is disconnected from the power supply. • Pour any remaining water out of the tank. • Stand the iron upright on its heel rest and allow to cool completely. • Loosely loop the power cord together and store the iron on its heel rest.

Always read garment labels and follow the manufacturer’s ironing instructions. Sort the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric. You should first iron garments requiring low temperature to avoid damaging them with an iron that is too hot. If you are unsure of the fabric content of the garment, test a small area, such as a seam or facing, before ironing a visible area. Start with a low temperature and gradually increase the heat to find the best setting. When changing the temperature from a high setting to a low setting, allow approximately 5 minutes for the lower temperature to be reached. When steam ironing, use long, slow passes over the fabric. This will allow the steam to penetrate the fabric while allowing the heat of the soleplate to dry out the moisture. To iron linens, turn garment inside out. Be careful not to use and iron that is too hot because the lining may melt or stick to the soleplate. To iron zippers, use an ironing cloth or make sure the zipper is closed and iron over the flap. Never use iron over an unprotected zipper.

Further, the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty. Some states, provinces or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental o consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or province to province.
