Pay special attention to the points marked “WARNING“ These points deal with operations which can cause damage or injury if the instructions are not followed. The information contained in this manual was correct and up to date at the time of going to press. Information in this manual has been compiled with the aim of simplifying the operation of your compressor. Always follow the instructions given in this manual. The will help you getting the best economy and efficiency from your new compressor. If any fault should occur, or if you should encounter operating problems, get in touch with one of our Authorised Service Centres. If repair is needed, use only ORIGINAL SPARES to ensure that your compressor continues to work efficiently for an extended working life. warranty All our products are tested and under warranty for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery. This warranty is limited to all clients who have fulfilled all contractual and administrative obligations and who have installed and operated the product in compliance with the instructions provided in this manual. Under the terms of this guarantee, the Manufacturer shall repair or replace free of charge all components which are proven defective at source or which develop fault within the period of warranty. The Manufacture's Technical Assistance Service shall be the only authority in determining whether or not defects come under the coverage of the warranty. The warranty does not cover labour costs for technical service operations, which will be duly charged.. The warranty also excludes all responsibility on the part of the Manufacturer for direct or indirect loss or damage to persons or things deriving from incorrect operation or servicing of the product. The warranty is limited to defects in materials and assembly, and excludes all components subject to normal wear. Furthermore the warranty excludes all costs for transport, inspection, removal, and re-assembly incurred by the Manufacturer's service staff when faults are not caused by defects in material or assembly, and all costs thus incurred shall be duly charged. _____________________ Schneider Druckluft 3 Important Notice When requesting information, service, or spares, always quote the model, type and serial number of your compressor. You can find theses details on the type label of the compressor. Safety Instructions ∗ To ensure working safe, always follow the pre-operation checks (see Installation) before you start up the compressor. This is a matter of safety for you and the machine! ∗ Do never leave inflammable objects near the compressor. ∗ Do never blow the compressed air directely to persons or animals. ∗ Make sure that children and animals are kept away from the compressor and from any equipment attached to it. The head and air delivery line become very hot during operation and can stay hot for a long time. Do not touch! ∗ Make sure that you know how to stop the compressor quickly. Learn how to operate the compressor well . ∗ Make sure that nobody will operate the compressor without instruction. ∗ Do never transport the compressor with the tank under pressure. ∗ Before servicing the compressor, and in particular before disconnecting any component, make sure that all pressure has been released from the tank and that the power has been switched off. lf power is left switched on, the compressor can re-start suddenly. Whenever you are not using the compressor, switch off power. ∗ If you use the compressor for paint spraying. ∗ a) Do never spray in closed rooms or in the open fire. ∗ b) Make sure that there is sufficient ventilation. Installation All compressors are tested at the factory before being delivered. To get the best from your compressor, follow the instructions given below. • Remove the compressors from the packing. • check the unit for damage and to make sure that no components are missing. • Warning: Compressor out of oil. Remove the rubber plug on the intake pipe, remove the air intake filter. • Now add the oil through the intake pipe until reaching optimum level, as indicated on the data label, and visible through the oil glass. Oil must never be over the max. oil level! Oil eye Maximum Optimal Minimum Never use an oil different from the one recommended by the manufacturer. After having added the oil. Keep the compressor upright to avoid oil leakage. • The power supply voltage must be the same indicated on the data label: 230 V/50 Hz. • Install the compressor in a well ventilated, dust-free environment. WARNING! Silent 30 around-proofed compressors must be positioned with their rear venting slots at least 20 cm from any well or any other thing which could avoid the passage of air. ______________________ 4 Schneider Druckluft Start-Up Always use your compressor on a flat surface. The start switch is the knob situated on the cover of the pressure switch. Turn the pressure switch knob to position "0". Insert the plug into the socket and start the compressor turning the pressure switch knob to position "1". The compressor working process is automatic. The pressure switch stops the compressor when the pressure in the tank reaches the maximum value allowed and starts it again when the pressure drop to the minimum value. Adjust the outlet air pressure operating on the reducer filter knob. 1. 2. 3. 4. pull up the knob; turning the knob clockwise the pressure will rise; turning the knob counterclockwise the pressure will decrease; once reached the suitable pressure, push the knob down. If the pressure switch don't work (overpressure), the safety valve will automatically operate and open when the pressure exceeds the max. setted value. WARNING: Never remove or repair the this valve. WARNING: While working, the motor / air hose unit, reaches high temperature. If working near this unit do not touch (burn risk). Maintenance WARNING: All operation mentioned in this chapter, must be done with the plug disconnected! • Once a week check the oil level shown by the glass. When the motor is stopped, the oil level must be like indicated on the label beside. • Once a week remove the condensate which is collected in the air tank. To empty the tank, put it under pressure take the compressor to a place where the water will not damage the floor. Tip the compressor slightly forward and open the tap on the bottom of the tank (pos. 10; fig 1; page 2). • Once a month drain the water collected in the air outlet filter proceeding as follows (the operation are to be done with the tank under pressure): 1. turn the button clockwise; 2. pushing the button drain the condensate contained in the bowl; 3. at the end of this operation turn the button counterclockwise. Warning: Do not give the condensate in the environment. _____________________ Schneider Druckluft 5 Services Schedule Operations Hours Weekly Drain of condensate Clean intake filter General clean Replace filter Check/Clean intake delivery and non-return valves 50 100 500 1.000 X Monthly Every 6 months Yearly Every 2 years X 2.000 X X X Troubleshooting Warning: Before servicing the compressor, and in particular before disconnecting any component, make sure that all pressure has been released from the air tank and that the power has been switched off.
