CM SKIP 37 TV SYSTEM 6 3 Installing and Connection 3.1 Assembling steps: The unit composing of main broad,3.5 inch SATA HDD,top/front and rear cove etc. User can install the HDD with reference to the following steps: 1:Take out the product from the package and put it flat on the desk. As in Image ① 2:Turn over the product, front to the bottom. Tack care not to scratch the Aluminum case。As in Image ② 3:Screw off the back panel。As in Image ③ 4:After screw off the back panel, put it on the desk.。As in Image④ 5:Fix the hard disk into the slot of Back panel.。As in image ⑤ 6:Screw on the Hard disk。As in Image ⑥ 7:After screw on the HDD, fix the back panel into the front panel. Connect the HDD data cable, power cable, and cooling fan., then cover the back panel. As in Image ⑦ 8:Screw on the back panel. As in Image ⑧. 9:The Installation finishes. As in Image ⑨ 7 Note: If you don’t want install the Hard disk; you can just plug in the memory cards into the card slot for playing. 3.2 CVBS Output Follow the picture and Use CVBS cable(optional)to connect TV 3.3 HDMI Output Follow the picture and Use HDMI cable(optional)to connect TV: 8 3.4 YUV Output Follow the picture and Use YUV cable(optional)to connect TV: 9 3.5 AV Input Transfer video signal from set-top box or other device to this unit by AV input cable, check TV to see the signal detail as follow: 3.6 Connect to Computer Connect the unit to PC by USB cable when it power on, you can copy, stick, and delete files. Please reference the picture. Remark:The unit is not compatible to Windows 98/98SE/Mackintosh .If your computer runs on Windows 98/98SE/Mackintosh, you must install the driver for it. 3.7 USB device(like U disk,MP3,USB HDD etc.) Connection Connect the unit to USB device, you can play the files in it. Please reference the picture. 10 3.8 Memory card Connection Connect the unit to SD/MMC/MS card, you can play the files in it. Please reference the picture. 3.9 Network Connection Connect the unit to PC by network cable with RJ45 interface. you can copy, delete and play the files been shared on PC. Two ways to connecting the PC (1) With one PC。 Connect PC and our machine with the reticle as follow. The setting please reference 5.1. 11 (2) With one or more PC. Connect PC and our machine to ROUTER as follows。The setting please reference . 4.Function Instruction 4.1 Home Menu Power on the AV HDD system, you can see the loading page. After a few second, the system will enter a guide menu. To enter this menu, press HOME KEY on the remote control too. 12 4.1.1 Selecting Video In To select an input source, select Video In button on the guide menu page. 4.1.2 Selecting file Copy To enter the “File copy” Menu allows you to copy files at NET,USB,CARD,HDD each other. 4.1.3 Selecting Browser Select Browser button on the guide menu page to browser movie, photo, music files stored either on a HDD, USB, Card Reader, NET or a USB device. 4.1.4 Selecting Setup To enter the setup menu, select “Setup” Key on the remote control or select Setup button on the guide menu page. 4.1.5 Selecting Time REC To enter the Time REC setup page, select “Timer” Key on the remote control or select Timer REC 13 button on the guide menu page. 4.2 Video In Menu The Video in menu allows you to look, record or review the content being lined in the unit. When you come in the Video in Menu, you would see the follow page: 4.2.1 Timeshit Press TIMESHIFT key to activate TIME SHIFT function and wait for the PLAY key. After you press the PLAY key, it would go on. The TIMESHIFT menu like below: Press Press and the program is paused. to resume viewing the program. Timeshift mode remains active until you press the button. 14 4.2.2 Recording Press REC key to start the OTR(one touch recording) function. Press repeatedly to set OTR length (30 mins / 60 mins / 90 mins / 120 mins / 180 mins /Off). 4.3 Browser Menu The Browser menu allows you browse and play music, photo and movie files stored on a HDD or an external USB \Card device and Network. To enter the menu, select Browser from the Home menu. Press and to select the device on which the media is stored. Choose from HDD, USB (for media stored on an external flash disk, NET or Card and press . When data on HDD and USB or Card device is connected or connect the system to Network, you can also browse photos, listen to MP3 files, and watch videos. 4.3.1 Browsing All/Music/Photo/Movies Use the left and right navigation arrows to select the All/Music/Photo/Movies tab. 15 Press and to select the folder(s) containing your all files(Beside Music ,Photo and and Movie). Enter the folder press to select the file you want to view and press to play. 4.3.2 File Edit Menu Press and to select the file or folder, press DELETE key to display the Edit tab. Return Select to return to the main screen. Rename To rename a file, do the following: 1. Press menu bar. and on the remote control to select the Rename tab from the 2. Press on the remote control. The name entry screen appears. 16 3. Use the navigation arrows to select letters and numbers. Select CAPS to toggle between uppercase and lowercase letters. Press <- to delete a letter. Press -> to insert to input each letter or number. a space. Press Delete 4. Once you have entered the new name, select OK and press changes. If you want to cancel the naming during the process, press RETURN. To delete a title, do the following: 1. Press menu bar. and 2. Press to confirm and delete the file. on the remote control to select the Delete tab from the 3. A confirmation message appears. Press 4. Press to confirm all or and select OK. to delete the selected file. To cancel delete, select Return. 4.4 Timer Record Menu The Timer Record menu allows you to create, edit and delete recording schedules and view all schedule status and history. To enter the menu, select Timer Record from the Guide menu or press the remote control. 4.4.1 Creating a New Schedule Press and on the remote control to select the Edit tab from the menu bar. 17 on the Select Add a New Schedule and press Use and each setting. Enter the length of the recording Select how often you want the schedule to record. Choose from Once, Everyday, Mon-Fri, Mon-Sat or for an individual day of the week. Select the recording quality. Choose from HQ, SLP, EP, LP and SP. The higher the quality, the more space required on the hard drive. See HDD Free Space on the left of the screen for details of how long you can record for using each setting. This small preview window will show the current program of the select channel. 4.4.2 Editing Schedules Press and on the remote control to select the Edit tab from the menu bar. 18 to adjust . The schedule setting screen appears. Modify the Select the schedule you want to edit from the list and press schedule as described in “Creating a New Schedule” on page 18. 4.4.3 Deleting Schedules Press and on the remote control to select the Delete tab from the menu bar. . Press Schedule Status Press and to confirm.Viewing on the remote control to select the Schedule tab from the menu bar. The schedule list is displayed. Select a schedule and press 19 . Select Enable VPS, Disable VPS or Pause the selected schedule. Press to confirm 4.5 SETUP MENU The Setup Menu allows you to configure video, record and system settings. To enter the menu, select Setup from the Guide menu or select on the remote control. 4.5.1 Changing “Video” Settings Press and on the remote control to select the Video tab from the menu bar. 20 Aspect Ratio Select to set aspect ratio. Press and to select from Pan Scan 4:3, Letter Box to confirm. 4:3, or 16:9. Press Pan Scan 4:3: Display a wide picture on the entire screen and cuts off the redundant portions. Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. Letter Box 4:3: Display a wide picture with two black borders on the top and bottom of 4:3 screen Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. Brightness 16:9: Compress the image to convert the whole image. Select when a 16:9 TV is connected. Select to set brightness levels. Press Contrast and to adjust brightness. The new setting is previewed onscreen. Press to confirm. Select to set contrast levels. Press and Press to confirm. to adjust contrast. The new setting is previewed onscreen. TV System Select to adjust TV system. 21 Press and to set the TV system, depending on your viewing preferences. Press to confirm. Select to adjust video output type. HD Output Press and preferences. Press to set the video output type, depending on your viewing to confirm. 4.5.2 Changing “REC” Settings Press and on the remote control to select the Record tab from the menu bar. 22 Quality Select to set the default recording quality setting. Press and to select the quality setting you require. The highest quality setting is HQ which requires the most storage space. The other settings reduce recording quality sequentially but also require less storage space. Press to confirm. Permanent Timeshift Select to open and close the Timeshift function. Press Rec Device TimeShift Device and to select the interval you require. to confirm. Press Select to adjust the divice to been recorder in. Press and Press to confirm. to select the interval you require. 23 4.5.3 Changing “System” Settings Press and on the remote control to select the System tab from the menu. Menu Language Select to choose the OSD (On Screen Display) language. Time Select to set the system time. Press Press and to select the language. Press and enter Manual setup. Enter the system menu and press and and down navigation arrows to adjust each setting. HDD Format to confirm. to confirm. Press Enter format Hard Disc 24 to select each field and the up Restore Default Select to restore factory defaults. A confirmation message appears. Select CONFIRM and press RETURN to restore all settings to defaults. 25 4.5.4 Changing “Network” Settings Press and Network Seting on the remote control to select the System tab from the menu. 1) Select to set the Network Setting. Before use the Network functions. Press and to select DHCP(AUTO) or FIXED IP(MANUAL). to confirm. Press DHCP DNS(AUTO) Set the DNS server IP address by auto. Press to confirm. 26 FIX IP (MANUAL) Using Fixed IP, it is required to enter followings. IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway. For further assistant to above settings, please contact to the network administrator. Press Press to enter the IP address. to confirm. 4.6 File Copy Menu The Setup Menu allows you to copy files at NET,USB,CARD,HDD each other. To enter the menu, select File Copy from the Guide menu or select “COPY”key on the remote control. 4.6.1 Step 1. Select Source Device When you enter the File copy interface, press to copy first. Then press to select Destination Device, press 27 and to select the device which your want to return. 4.6.2 Step 2. When copy succeed, the system will display “File Copy Completed!”; if failed, the system will display “File Copy failed!” 29 When the File Copy completed! You can select “OK” to browser files, or select “No” return Video. 5 Format Hard disc When you insert a Hard disc on the system at the first time, System will remain you to enter the Hard disc format interface. You can also press “Setup” Key into Setup menu and select HDD Format to Format HDD. First, the system will jump a warning page. Press and on the remote control to select you wish. When highlight move the OK button, Press to enter the next step. Otherwise, select cancel to return. 5.1 The first step Step 1: FAT32 & NTFS Partitioning Please according the screen remain to adjust the capacity. 30 Use and to adjust the Fat32 and NTFS partition. Press and on the remote control to select back or next. When highlight move the Next button, Press back button to return. to enter the next step. Otherwise, select 5.2 The second step Step 2: Hard disk format Press and on the remote control to select back or format. When highlight move the Format button, Press to start. Otherwise, select back button to back. 5.3 Congratulation page When complete the format, the system will display the congratulation page. 31 Select OK button and Press to exit. 6 Network Setting 6.1 Setting with one PC 6.1.1 step 1 : Setting TCP/IP of the PC First, choose Network Connections from “Control Panel” menu of PC and open it. 32 Second, Press the right key of the Mouse on the “Local Area Connection” icon and choose “Properties” to open. Third, choose the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” in the General Menu, and choose the “Properties” item with the Mouse,then come to the next menu。 33 Fourth, choose“Use the following IP address” in the menu and set as follows: IP address: 192.168.0.3 Subnet mark: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.0.1 Then,Choose“OK” to exit。 34 6.1.2 Step 2: Setting the IP address of the unit Open SETUP MENU, choose the “MANUAL”of “Wired Lan Setup” follows: IP address: 192.168.0.3 Subnet mark: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.0.1 in the Network Page.Setting as 6.1.3 Step 3: Share the file played Find out the file need shared in PC and choose the “properties” item. 35 Mark a “√” in front of “share this folder on the network”。 Then,Choose“OK” to exit。 6.1.4 Step 4: Turn on the guest Choose“User Accounts”in the “Control Pannel” menu and open it. 36 Then choose the GUSET item in the operating page and open it. Finally choose“Turn on the Guset Account” in the page. 37 6.1.5 Step 5: Setting the Windows Firewall on PC First, choose the“Windows Firewall”in the “Control Pannel” Menu and open it. Then, mark a “√” in front of “File and Printing sharing”in the Exceptions。 38 Then, Choose“OK” to exit. Finally close the machine and restart it. 6.2 Settings with one or more PC 6.2.1 Step 1: Setting TCP/IP of the PC First, choose the“Network Connections”icon in the “Control Pannel” menu of PC and open it。 39 Second, Press the right key of the Mouse in the “Local Area Connection” icon and choose “Properties” to open. Third, choose the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” item in the “General” Menu, and choose “Properties” item with the Mouse,then come to the next menu。 40 Choose “Obtain an IP address automatically” in the menu Then,Choose“OK” to exit。 41 6.2.2 Step 2: Setting the IP address of the machine Open the SETUP MENU and choose“DHCP(AUTO) ” in the Network item。 The next operating step please reference to 5.1.3、5.1.4、5.1.5.
