1. Summary 1.1 Overview Bulbcam is a WIFI enabled IP Network CCTV Security Digital Video Recorder (DVR) camera innovatively disguised as a light bulb. The design and concept has been patented. The installation process explained in this user manual is simple and easily understood. Once the bulb has been mounted, the micro-SD card inserted and the power has been turned one, it will begin to auto record. This device doesn’t require drilling of holes or loose cables, only an external bulb holder. Bulbcam is accessible from your mobile phone/computers via the internet where users are able to login to watch and hear what the Bulbcam is recording. Linking your mobile phones or computers to the Bulbcam is explained in this user manual and requires users to download the Bulbcam app as well as use data when viewing content via the internet. All recording is stored on the micro-SD card where users are able to access files when needed. 1.2 Key Functions Function

Using reset pin, press and hold for 10 seconds to reset bulb to factory default mode (AP mode)
Press reset button on remote control once and after hearing 10 beeps, the device will reset to factory default mode (AP mode)

3. How to install
3.1 Insert Micro-SD card (2GB-32GB, must be formatted for first time usage) into the camera card slot. 3.2 Make sure the socket power is off and that voltage is within the operation range (100-250V), screw in the camera into the bulb holder (like a bulb) 3.3 Turn power on 4. 5. Operation Mode This device supports two operation modes: 1. AP Mode- This is the device’s default mode. Mobile phones and PC’s are able to connect directly to the bulb camera itself, using a P2P feature provided by the bulb itself. This mode is also called point-to-point connection. Whenever the device is RESET, this is the mode it will default to. 2. Wi-Fi Mode- This mode requires the bulb to be connected to an external router which allows mobile phones and PC’s to access the bulb camera from any location via the internet. Each device has a unique device ID which users are able to connect to via the client software app. *please change your default password

5.1 AP Mode (point-to-point) This is the default mode of every device. How to connect using AP Mode: 1. Search for the bulb camera device under your WIFI settings so that you can connect directly to the bulb’s WIFI, device ID and password will be found in packaging. 2. Select SSID that matches the device ID and enter the password on request. (If you aren’t able to find the device, try resetting the bulb using the reset pin or remote) SSID: LH0000xxx Password: 123456/88888888 (Located on the packaging box) 3. Once you have successfully connected to the bulb, launch the Bulbcam app on your mobile phone. 4. Tap ‘Local’ or ‘LAN’ and select the device ID that matches the bulb to view what that camera is recording.
5.2 WIFI Mode (Internet Access) Connecting the Bulbcam to a router allows customers to watch what the camera sees over the internet. Customers are able to view the device from anywhere in the world. Below is an explanation of how to switch from AP mode (default mode) to WIFI mode. Each bulb camera is identified by its unique device ID (LH00xxxx). The client software will require a login to access the Bulbcam over the internet. This user ID will be used to log into the software along with a default password. (Please remember to change your password) How to connect Bulbcam to WIFI router:
1. Launch client software 2. Select ‘Local Camera’s’ tab 3. Select the Bulbcam device ID you want to connect to the router 4. Tap on settings option and in the options list, select ‘Wi-Fi’ 5. Select the ‘Use WIFI’ option 6. Click ‘Search’ so that the Bulbcam searches for all WIFI connections in proximity 9 BulbCam User Manual
7. Enter in the password for the router 8. Bulbcam will reboot automatically and will be connected to the router about 2 minutes later. Thereafter the camera will be listed under my cameras not LAN 9. If you have selected the incorrect WIFI connection or entered the incorrect password, you can RESET the Bulbcam and begin again. 5.2.1 WIFI Mode Trouble Shooting Strategy If you could not connect to the router even if the password is correct. Please make sure you are aware of the following points:
1. Routers DHCP service must be enabled. Bulbcam depends on it to get the IP address 2. Router’s SSID, must have NO spaces in-between words, i.e.: “my ssid” is not acceptable, change it to “myssid” 3. Router’s wireless channel, we would suggest using no. “13” (some older routers don’t have channel 13 but channel 11 will work just as well) 4. Router’s security method: we suggest using “WPA2-PSK” (AUTO is not recommended) 5. Router’s encryption method: we suggest using “AES” (AUTO is not recommended) 5.3 Changing to WIFI mode via a PC Changing the Bulbcam to WIFI mode is also able to be done on a computer. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
Launch client software Select ‘Local Camera’s’ tab Select the Bulbcam device ID you want to connect to the router Right click and in that list of options, select ‘ Select Wi-Fi Connection’ Select ‘Scan’ and choose the router SSID from the list Under ‘Wireless Security Type’ select ‘WPA2-PSK’ Under ‘Data Encryption’ select ‘AES’ Type in the router’s WIFI password and press ‘OK’ The Bulbcam will then REBOOT itself and connect to the router

6. Watching Online There are two viewing types to choose from which can be selected on the first page of the client software. Select which type you would like to use and then choose the ID of the device you would like to view. View Types
Description
If you are in close proximity (house or office) to the Bulbcam itself then you can choose LAN/LOCAL to view the device No login account needed You are able to set passwords so that no one else can access it The speed of viewing will be faster when LAN/LOCAL is selected If you are not in close proximity to the Bulbcam and want to access it over the internet, then you can select the WAN/REMOTE viewing option This option requires a login account. The account number will be the device number and the generic password for the device is 123456 You can create other accounts and add additional Bulbcams to the account Picture quality dependant on internet connectivity
7. Download Recorded Video When a Micros-SD card is inserted in the Bulbcam & applicable settings selected, the device will save recorded content onto the SD card. You are then able to preview the content by downloading the files from the card onto your computer/cell phone etc. This function is known as the ‘SD File Download’ on the client software. Motion Detection
NB: To setup motion detection related functions, please ensure that the motion detection feature is enabled. If this is not enabled, all related functions will not work. 8.1 How to set up motion detection on different devices: 8.1.1 Android Phones Open Bulbcam app -> Click ‘LAN’ tab -> Select one device ID -> Tap ‘>’ -> Select ‘Alarm Settings’
Enable motion detection feature by ticking the box -> select ‘high’ for ‘alarm sensitivity -> Select ‘OK’

Open Bulbcam app -> Click ‘Local Section’ tab -> Select one device ID -> Tap ‘i’ -> Select ‘Alarm Settings’

Slide to enable motion detection feature -> select ‘high’ for ‘alarm sensitivity -> Select ‘Done’

Run Bulbcam software ->in LAN section, select a device ID -> then click the screen
Click right hand mouse button -> then select "Motion detection area"

Select "Alarm sensitivity" to "High" -> click "New detection area" button -> then use mouse to draw a big rectangle on screen (the selected area will be bordered by a RED line) -> then press "OK" button 8.2
Motion Detection Recording
This function enables the camera to record videos when only there is motion. The setup can only be done on a Windows PC. First assuming the motion detection function has been enabled using one of the above methods: Select a device ID -> click right hand mouse button -> select "SD card configuration"
Tick the "video motion detection alarm recording" box [do not check start automatic recording together], then click "OK" button, and restart the bulb camera.

Light Control by Motion Detection
This function enables the camera’s light to switch on automatically when there is motion. This setup is done on mobile phones. First assuming the motion detection function has been enabled using one of the above methods. 9.3.1 Android phones Open Bulbcam app -> select a device ID -> click ">", then select "eHome Security"
Click "Enable" -> then click back button.

8.3.2 Apple Phones Open Bulbcam app -> in local access section -> choose a device ID -> click "i" -> slide to enable "Alarm with light“
8.4 Email Alert There are two types of alarms: email alert and push notification (for mobile phones). These alarms are triggered when a motion is detected. How to set up motion detection and email alert on phones and PC: Mobile phones: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Select the Bulbcam device you want under the ‘Local Tab’ Select ‘>’ Select ‘Alarm settings’ Set alarm sensitivity to ‘High’ and make sure the ‘Motion detection’ checkbox is ticked

***Here you need smtp-server and SMTP port information, if you don’t know these you will have to contact your email Service provider.

Listening
On a mobile phone- when in viewing mode, click and then

10. Video Recording Methods There are three methods to record videos 1. Built-in Micro-SD card storage device - just simply insert a card then it will auto record onto the Micro SD card 2. Recording on Mobile phone or Computer – when online watching a bulb camera from mobile phones or computers, simply press the video sign button: it will start recording, and the video files are stored on the mobile phone or computer. 3. Network Video Recorder device – NVR machine which supports ONVIF protocol, the NVR machine can connect to the Bulbcam and store video files onto it. This is suitable for large video file storage. 18 BulbCam User Manual
11. Reset Camera There are two methods to reset bulb camera to default (factory setting) 1. Reset pin using provided reset pin Insert into the reset hole and press down for around 10 seconds, then release it. The bulb camera will reboot and return all settings to factory set value.
2. Reboot button our models come with a remote control, just press “Reboot” button on remote control, then bulb camera will reboot by itself and return all setting to factory set value.
12. Light Control 12.1 Switch On/Off Light This function only applies to certain model types that have normal LEDs, please note that not ALL models have this. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

12.2 Motion Detection with Light Light can be controlled based on motion detection. Once motion is detected, the light will be turned ON automatically, if there is no motion, the light will be turned OFF. 1. Motion detection feature must be ON first (see motion detection, email alert section) 2. Open APP 3. Go to ‘LAN’ section 4. Select the Bulbcam you want to work with 5. Tap ‘>’ 6. Select ‘eHome Security’ 7. Select Enable/Disable according to need
13. Indication Light Meaning There are two states of the indication light: Blue- the system is in booting stage, not ready for connection Red- the system is ready for connection

14. Advanced Settings for Administrators Administrators can use the Internet Browser to control the back-end of bulb camera. Each bulb camera has a local IP address. On PC software, the IP address can be found in “Set IP address” function Key in the IP address in an internet browser URL: 192.168.88.111 If Internet Explorer is the default web browser, select “Open device IE” on the menu and it will take you directly in. Then a prompt screen will pop up for a login Login : admin, Password : admin If it is your first time using activeX, then you have to click “Download activeX” and install it before you can login. If you have downloaded and installed active but still not able to login, then go to our support website download an activeX and manually install it by the administrator facility, www.bulbcam.net When you have logged in, an administration screen will be shown as below.

15. Advanced Settings for Professionals - Update Patch All the latest firmware is available on the website, www.bulbcam.net For updated patches, download the files from the above the website, and then go to the back-end administration page in section 12. Click “Parameter->Device Maintenance”, the following screen will pop up:
Click the “browse” button, browsing the firmware update file from your computer, then click “upgrade” button
When it is upgrading, do not turn off the power of the bulb camera. When it is complete, it will auto reboot.

When the reboot is complete (indication light turns RED), Then turn off the power, wait for 10 seconds, and turn back on again.
