This guide will explain the features and specifications of your new keyboard as well as the installation in a few simple steps. Please retain this guide for further reference. Convenient features like fully Plug-and-Play make it easy to setup the VisionTek DCS keyboard in your computer. Media Card Reader unit PLUS: USB adapter Installation manual Installation CD DCS X MEDIA CHANGE dockable USB keyboard for iPod® + card reader HI-SPEED USB Compatible Installation Windows 98SE or Windows 2000 users: Driver installation is required. Please perform software setup first before using the card reader unit. This is a USB 2.0 device and it is backward compatible with USB 1.1 interface. However, you will be limited to USB 1.1 performance when connected to a USB 1.1. port. When the unit is connected to a USB 1.1 port, the following Windows messagemay appear: "A HI-SPEED USB device is plugged into a non-HI-SPEED USB hub. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message" Please ignore the message. Install software driver This step is required for Windows 98SE / 2000 users only. If you have Windows ME / XP, please skip this step and proceed ahead. (1) Close all applications that are running, including applications running in the background. (2) Insert Setup CD into CD-ROM drive and locate setup.exe file in PC setup folder. (3) Double click on setup.exe will lead you into setup program. (4) Follow setup instruction on your screen. (5) After driver files are copied into your system, setup program will prompt you to restartyour computer. Please do so. (6) Once computer is restarted, you can proceed to next step. DCS X MEDIA CHANGE dockable USB keyboard for iPod® + card reader HI-SPEED USB Compatible Connecting The Keyboard Plug the 2 USB cables into available USB ports at the back of your computer, Or use the provided PS2 adapter for your keyboard. To PS2 for keyboard Docking the Card Reader Unit Open the docking cover, then insert the Reader into the docking port. The computer will recognize and add the new hardware. Docking the iPod Adapter Open the docking cover, then insert the iPod dock adapter into the docking port. When you dock your iPod, the computer will have you sync it with iTunes™. Using the iPod dock adapter with the DCS keyboard Open the docking cover and insert iPod dock adapter into keyboard docking station. Then slide iPod onto dock unit. Now you can begin to sync the iPod with iTunes and transfer music. The dock also charges the iPod via USB connection (charges 4G iPod, iPod minis, and newer iPod). DCS X MEDIA CHANGE dockable USB keyboard for iPod® + card reader HI-SPEED USB Compatible Caution !! When removing your iPod from your computer, you have to EJECT it from iTunes. Failing to do so may result in damaging your iPod. Connecting the Card Reader unit to other computers Plug the External USB cable into Card reader, then plug the other end of the cable to open USB port of your computer/notebook. Using the Card Reader The card reader is similar to using a floppy drive. Simply insert your media card into the slot and click on the appropriate Removable Disk icon in My Computer, it will allow you to access your media card like a disk. We strongly recommend that you copy the files in the media card to your computer first before attempting to view or make any changes to the files. Caution !! When removing your flash media card from reader please make sure that your file transferring process is fully completed before pulling your media card out. Failing to do so may result in card damage or data corruption. Avoid formatting your media cards in Windows environment if possible. Always format your media card in the electronic device it is used in. Certain electronic devices may become incompatible with the media cards formatted under Windows file systems. VisionTek’s liability under this warranty, or in connection with any other claim relating to the Products, is limited to the repair, or at VisionTek’s option, the replacement of the portion of the Products, which were defective in material or workmanship. The service representative will issue a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number and additional instructions for returning your defective product. No VisionTek product will be accepted for repair without proof of purchase and an RMA number. Your sales receipt or invoice is your proof of purchase.
