If you are using the drying function for a long period of time, set the dry switch on "Lo". For the following persons, be sure to set OBSERVE the dry switch on "Lo" when they are using this product. (Children, elderly persons, persons who are sick, persons who cannot adjust the temperature themselves, persons with weak skin, persons who are taking medicines that make them drowsy, such as sleeping medications, deeply intoxicated persons, or persons who are extremely fatigued.) * If this product is being used for a long period of time with the seat temperature switch on any setting other than "Off", there is danger of low temperature burns. * If the drying function is being used for a long period of time with the dry switch on any setting other than "Lo", there is danger of burns. Absolutely do not allow anyone except an authorized service technician to disassemble, repair or modify this product. * There is danger of electric shock, or fire, and this product could malfunction, causing injury. Do not pull out or insert the power plug with wet hands. * There is danger of electric shock. DON'T DISASSEMBLE Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug or if the plug is loose in the wall outlet. * There is danger of electric shock or fire. Safety precautions WARNING NO WET HAND Do not splash water or cleanser on the body or the power plug. * There is danger of electric shock or fire. DON'T POUR WATER FORBIDDEN If there is danger of the water in this product's water lines freezing, implement the freeze prevention methods to prevent damage. (See page 41.) OBSERVE * Freeze damage may cause fire or damage household articles. If the body, power plug, or power cord are damaged (abnormal noise, odor, smoke generation, high temperature, cracks), pull the power plug out of the OBSERVE outlet immediately, then request repairs. * Neglecting to do so could cause electric shock or fire. If water is leaking from the body or form the water supply system, pull the plug out of the outlet and close the water shutoff valve. * Neglecting to do so could cause electric shock or fire, or get the room soaking wet. Keep the memory card in a safe place where babies and infants cannot reach it. * If they swallow the card by mistake, it could block their windpipe. FORBIDDEN Do not attach this product to any water source other than tap water. * There is danger of electric shock or fire due to internal corrosion in the mechanism. OBSERVE  Safety precautions CAUTION For care of plastic parts, do not use any cleanser other than those which are safe to use on toilet seats (toilet cleanser, home cleanser, bleach, benzene, paint thinner, FORBIDDEN scouring powder, cresol). * Use of such products could cause plastic parts to crack, causing personal injuries. When removing the strainer, be sure to close the water shutoff valve. When installing the strainer, tighten it OBSERVE fully so there is no gap. * Failure to do so could result in water leakage and flooded floor. Do not bring lighted cigarettes, ashtrays or other sources of fire near these parts. * Doing so could result in fire. A deodorizing fan is placed deep in the deodorizing cartridge receptacle. Do not insert your fingers or any object other than FORBIDDEN the deodorizing cartridge inside. Do not climb on top of the toilet seat lid or body. * Doing so could damage it or result in injury. * Fingers could be injured or it could cause breakdown. FORBIDDEN 傷める原因.eps  NO FIRE Safety precautions CAUTION If hairline cracks appear in the ceramic parts of the toilet, or if it breaks, absolutely do not touch the damaged parts with bare DON'T TOUCH hands. If this product is not to be used for an extended period of time, drain the water out of it and pull the power plug out of the OBSERVE outlet. (See page 40.) * The damaged parts could cause injury. Handling precautions Follow these precautions in order to prevent breakdown of this product. Handling precautions In case of thunderstorms, pull the power plug out of the outlet. * Lightning surges could cause accidents or breakdown of this product. Do not place a stove or heater close to the body. * Doing so could cause product discoloration or damage. Do not expose this product to the direct rays of the sun. * Plastic parts could become discolored by the sunlight. Do not open or close either the toilet seat lid or the toilet seat with great force. * Doing so could crack or otherwise damage it, causing an electrical hazard. ストーブだめよ.eps カミナリ.eps Do not clean the toilet with hot water. Also do not subject the toilet to impacts. * Doing so could damage the toilet or cause it to leak. Do not use any paper other than the toilet paper, and be careful not to drop any foreign materials in the bowl, which may clog in the piping. If you drop anything by mistake, pick it up before flushing the toilet. Handling precautions When there is danger of the water in this product's water lines freezing, implement the freeze prevention methods to prevent damage. (See page 41.) If the toilet becomes clogged, use a commercially available plunger (rubber cup) to remove it. Do not flush the toilet when it is clogged. * Doing so could cause sewage to fill the toilet bowl and overflow onto the floor.  Before using this product for the first time, take a few minutes to make sure of the following points. 1 Make sure the water shutoff valve is open. If the water shutoff valve is closed, turn the open/close handle 90° to the left. Connect the ground cord to the ground terminal of a receptacle. 2. Insert the power plug in a 220 VAC outlet. Power Plug 3. Make sure the power lamp on the power indicator lights up. With your forearm resting on the toilet seat, press the POWERFUL shower button. 2. When the nozzle extends, cover the tip of the nozzle with your hand to catch the spray when the shower begins spraying. Roll up your sleeve and rest your arm directly on the toilet seat. At this time, water sprays from near the nozzles as a preparatory operation. 3. Press the stop button to stop the shower. Check the other functions while looking at the operating instructions(On page 11 and subsequent pages). * This product is equipped with an occupied seat sensor that senses when a person is sitting on the toilet seat. Posterior washing does not operate if you do not touch the toilet seat. Setting the clock * Be careful with the AM and PM settings. Press the Hour, then the Minute buttons to set the time. When you operate any switch, the backlight keeps lighting for 5 seconds. * If you stand in front of the toilet, the deodorizer starts working automatically. (See page 33.) 12 ≪ Preparations before use ≫ Check the following operations before using this product to make it even more comfortable to use. WATER TEMP.Switch (Heating the shower) POWER ON/OFF Button Adjust the water temperature using the water temperature switch. Press the power button to turn the power on or off. The switch can be set on 4 settings, High, Middle, Low and Off. Set it at the temperature you prefer. (Turning the power on/off) * The power lamp in the power indicator will light up if the power is on. Operation SEAT TEMP. Switch (Heating the toilet seat) Adjust the seat temperature using the seat temperature switch. The switch can be set on 4 settings, High, Middle, Low and Off. Set it at the temperature you prefer. WARNING If you are using this product for a long period of time, set the seat temperature switch on "Off". For the following persons, be sure to set the OBSERVE seat temperature switch on "Off" when they are using this product. (Children, elderly persons, persons who are sick, persons who cannot adjust the temperature themselves, persons with weak skin, persons who are taking medicines that make them drowsy, such as sleeping medications, deeply intoxicated persons, or persons who are extremely fatigued.) * If this product is being used for a long period of time with the seat temperature switch on any setting other than "Off", there is danger of low temperature burns. Adjust the toilet seat temperature with the seat temperature switch. 13 Reference The toilet seat doesn't become war m instantly. If you set the temperature 10 to 15 minutes before use, the toilet seat temperature will be at a comfortable level during use. This product is equipped with a "seat heater auto off" function that prevents low temperature burns by switching off the toilet seat heater automatically when it is occupied. (See page 25.) The toilet seat temperature (set at medium) can be decreased (2°C). (See page 25.) ≪ How to use basic functions ≫ Shower function After the tip of the nozzle extends, the shower sprays the posterior. POWERFUL: Washes your posterior with strongly sprayed water. MILD: Washes your posterior with softly sprayed water. 3 Press the stop button to stop the shower. * An automatic self-stop function is included which stops both posterior and bidet washing automatically after 2 minutes. CAUTION In places where the tap water pressure is low and spray strength becomes weak, the nozzles may not extend. In such a case, turn the strength dial to a higher setting. Please sit fully on the toilet seat. If you sit fully on the seat, there will be less water splashing. After the tip of the nozzle extends, the shower sprays the delicate female parts. 1 Press the bidet button. 2 Turn the spray strength dial to adjust the spray strength. Operation 1 Press the POWERFUL or MILD shower button. Bidet function The strength dial can adjust the shower/bidet strength over a range of 6 steps. Set it at the strength you prefer. To make the strength weaker, turn the dial counterclockwise. To make the strength stronger, turn the dial clockwise. * The strength is indicated by the spray strength indicator in the LCD. Reference This product is equipped with a function which makes the spray strength weaker for persons who think the spray strength is strong even at the weakest setting. (See page 26.) 14 Wide range washing function Posterior massage washing function The nozzle will move back and for th during posterior or bidet washing to wash a wide area. Spray strength is alternated between strong and weak during posterior washing to provide massage effect. Operation 1 Press the wide rang washing button. 1 Press the massage washing button during posterior washing. 2 To stop wide range washing, press the wide rang washing button again. 2 To stop the massage spray, press the massage washing button again. Nozzle position adjusting function The nozzle position during posterior or bidet washing can be adjusted over a total of 5 steps. Press the FRONT or REAR nozzle position button. * If you stand up, the nozzle position will return automatically to the initial position. 15 Initial Position Drying function Warm air will be blown out and the parts which were wet by the shower will be dried. 1 Press the dry button. 2 Press the dry button again to change the temperature of the warm air. Each time the button is pressed, the warm air temperature setting changes in the sequence "Hi" "Mid" "Lo". * The warm air temperature is indicated in the LCD. Operation 3 Press the stop button to stop the drying function. * A self-stop function is included that stops drying automatically after 4 minutes. WARNING If you are using the drying function for a long period of time, set the dry button on "Lo". For the following persons, be sure to set the dry button on "Lo" when they are using this OBSERVE product: (Children, elderly persons, persons who are sick, persons who cannot adjust the temperature themselves, persons with weak skin, persons who are taking medicines that make them drowsy, such as sleeping medications, deeply intoxicated persons, or persons who are extremely fatigued.)   * If the drying function is being used for a long period of time with the dry button on any setting other than "Lo", there is danger of burns. Reference After shower use, wiping lightly with toilet paper to remove the water drops, and then pressing the dry button will help you dry off faster. This product is equipped with a "low drying temperature start" function which switches the drying temperature from the high temperature starting pattern to the low temperature starting pattern. (See page 25.) 16 Deodorizing function If the toilet is equipped with auto seat-open function 1 Deodorizing starts when a person stands in front of the toilet. * When detecting the presence of a person, the toilet seat activates the deodorizing fan in "full power mode" to remove odors. Operation 2 Sit on the seat. * The deodorizer shifts to "power mode" to remove odor in the toilet bowl. 3 Stand up from the seat. * The deodorizer fan's capacity is raised again and it changes to "full power mode," eliminating the odor. * The deodorizer automatically stops in 1 minute after you stand up. * This product is equipped with a deodorizing cartridge which absorbs odors from the toilet. (See page 36.) Stops after 1 minute. To disable the deodorizing function Press the stop and bidet buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. * A "beep, beep" sound is emitted when it is set, and its fan does not operate even when a person stands in front of the toilet. * To enable the deodorizing function, press the stop and bidet buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. 17 Press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. ≪ How to use convenient functions ≫ Toilet flushing function There are 3 ways to flush the toilet. 1. Full auto flushing, in which the toilet flushes automatically after several seconds when the person using the toilet stands up. 2. Remote control flushing, which flushes the toilet when the FLUSH button on the remote control unit is pressed. 3. Manual flush, which flushes the toilet when the flush lever on the side of the low tank is pressed. 1. Full auto flushing Set the auto flush switch to ON. 2 When not using the auto flushing function, set the auto flush switch to OFF. * When full auto flushing is selected, full flushing or partial flushing is selected according to the length of time a person occupies the toilet seat. 50 seconds: Full flushing Less than 50 seconds: Partial flushing However, if the shower washing is used, full flushing is performed even if the seat is occupied for less than 50 seconds. * In this mode, flushing is automatically started approximately 6 seconds after the user stands up from the toilet seat. This start time can be changed to approximately 15 seconds after the user stands up. (See page 26.) * If a male person stands in front of the toilet with the seat opened for 6 seconds or longer, partial flushing is performed in 1 second after you leave the toilet. CAUTION Do not turn the power off during flushing of the toilet. If the power is turned off or if there is a power failure during flushing, water will just continue flowing. In such a case, close the water shutoff valve. When the power goes on again, the flush lever will return to its original position. (See page 30.) 2. Remote control flushing Press the FULL flush button for full flushing. Press the PARTIAL flush button for partial flushing. 3. Manual flush Turn the flush lever approximately 45° forward the rear of the toilet. Flush Lever Approximately 45° * If the PARTIAL button is pressed during a bowel movement, the flushing operation may not be complete. * A "peep" sound is emitted from the body, and the toilet is flushed automatically. CAUTION * The above method cannot be used to flush the toilet when there is a power failure. Flush the toilet using the method described for "Flushing when there is a power failure" to flush the toilet under such conditions. (See page 29.) 18 手動洗浄.eps Operation 1 Power save function The power save function includes 2 functions for saving power: Power save and one-touch power save. 1. Power save lowers the water temperature and toilet seat temperature at all times except when the toilet is used. 2. The one-touch power save suppresses power consumption by turning off the toilet seat heater and water heater for a period of 8 hours during an extended period when this product is not being used. By using it together with power save, the power saving effect can be even further enhanced. Operation 1. Power save (always on) 1 2. One-touch power save (8 hours) Press the power save button for 2 seconds or longer. (The indicator lamp will blink. See below.) 1 Press the power save button. (The indicator lamp will blink. When power save is operating, the indicator lamp blinks 2 times. POWER SAVE * When the seat lid is open, power save mode is temporarily cancelled. (The power save lamp lights up.) * While the one-touch power save is operating, the power save mode cannot be canceled. Press the power save button to release the power off timer. 2 To turn off the power save, press the power save button for 2 seconds or longer. (The indicator lamp goes off.) * The indicator lamp blinks once while the one-touch power save is operating. POWER SAVE * When 8 hours have passed, the function automatically returns to the originally set state and the power save lamp changes from blinking to off. * The one-touch power save can be set any number of times in one day. 2 To turn off the power off timer, press the power save button. (The indicator lamp goes off.) * When power save is operating, the toilet seat are lowered, so they may feel cold. In such a case, cancel the power save function. * Even when the power save button is off, leaving the toilet seat lid closed is an effective way to save power. 19 Auto seat-open function (Toilet seat and lid open/close) * Depending on the model, this function may not be included. The auto seat-open function is classified into 2 types; non-touch open/close and open/close by a remote control switch. 1. Non-touch open/close: When a user stands in front of the toilet, the toilet seat lid opens automatically. When the user leaves the toilet, it closes after about 1 minute. 2. Open/close by a remote control button: The seat opens or closes when you press a switch on the remote control unit.(See page 21.) 1. Non-touch open/close Operation 1 Set the auto seat-open switch to "1" or "2". Body Sensor "1": The lid opens/closes automatically. Lid 2 "2":The lid and seat open/ close automatically. Lid and Seat To turn off this function, set the AUTO SEAT-OPEN switch to OFF. * When a person is detected by the body sensor and the occupied seat sensor, the toilet seat lid opens/closes automatically. * When a small child is using the toilet, turn the auto seat-open switch on the remote control unit in the OFF position. In the case of a small child, the occupied seat sensor cannot detect anybody's presence, and the toilet seat lid will start to close during use of the toilet on rare occasions. 20 2. Open/close by remote control 1 Press the toilet seat open/close button. Body Sensor Top Operation 2 To close the toilet seat, press the toilet seat open/close button again. * When you set the auto seat-open switch to "1" or "2", the seat (or seat and lid) closes in about 1 minute after you leave the toilet. * When a person is detected by the body sensor and the occupied seat sensor, the toilet seat lid opens/closes automatically. * When a small child is using the toilet, turn the auto seat-open switch on the remote control unit in the OFF position. In the case of a small child, the occupied seat sensor cannot detect anybody's presence, and the toilet seat lid will start to close during use of the toilet on rare occasions. 21 Plasmacluster (ion generator) function The plasmacluster function has the following 2 modes. Clean Mode: Plasmacluster ions (both positive and negative ions) have an effect against the floating mold spores that are the source of odors and suppress their propagation. Refresh Mode: The proportion of negative ions is increased and works inside the toilet to create a comfortable balance of ions that resembles the freshness of the air in a forest or near a waterfall. The clean mode and refresh mode switch automatically when a person is detected by the body sensor. Press the plasmacluster ion button. Operation 1 (The indicator lamp will light up.) Ions will be provided from the outlet, and auto operation will start. 2 To stop operation or when you desire not to use this function, press the plasmacluster ion button again. (The indicator lamp will go off.) * The ion generator operates continuously in the clean mode for 1 hour after the button is pressed, and then switches to intermittent operation. * When a person is detected, the plasmacluster ion generator automatically switches to the refresh mode and the indecator lamp lights up green. When a person's presence is not detected, it switches to the clean mode and the indicator lamp lights up blue. Indicator Lamp Set Clean ON OFF 1 hour 50 min. Refresh 10 min. During use 10 min. 50 min. ON OFF * When the plasmacluster is operating, a "chirping" sound is emitted. If you notice this sound, press the plasmacluster ion button and turn it off. * There is a slight odor of ozone generated by the ion generator, but its concentration is minute and does not have a bad effect on anyone's health. 22 Relaxation music Relaxation music is a function that plays music from speakers mounted on both sides of the body. The music play function is of two types, auto play and manual play. 1. Auto Play: When you stand in front of the toilet and open the toilet seat lid, music begins playing automatically, and when you finish and leave the toilet, closing the toilet seat lid, the music stops automatically. 2. Manual Play: You can play music or stop it any time you wish by pressing a button. 1. Auto play (This function is turned ON at the factory setting.) Reference The dim lamps are auxiliary lamps. It is not replaceable with the main light. It is possible to turn off only the dim lamp in the bowl. (See page 26.) 　While the dim light is lit, a shadow in the bottom of the toilet bowl might look like dirt. 24 Convenient functions Toilet seat heater auto off function To reduce the chance of low temperature burns, this product has a toilet seat heater auto off function which turns off the toilet seat heater when someone sits on the toilet seat. Use the following procedure to enable or cancel the toilet seat heater auto off function. Setting or canceling Press the stop button and POWERFUL shower button simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. (After it is set, a "beep, beep" sound will be emitted.) Release this function by repeating the same procedure. Operation * The toilet seat heater resumes operation automatically when you stand up from the toilet seat. Press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. Changing the (medium) temperature setting of the seat. The seat temperature (medium) can be decreased by 2°C in the following procedure. Press simultaneously for 6 seconds or longer. Setting or canceling Press the power save button and nozzle cleaning button simultaneously for 6 seconds or longer. (After it is set, a "beep, beep" sound is emitted.) Medium temperature change can be cancelled in the same method. Low drying temperature start function The dry function can be set to start on the low temperature setting. This function is convenient for elderly persons, handicapped persons or persons who are particularly sensitive to heat. Use the following procedure to enable or cancel the toilet seat heater auto off function. Setting or canceling Press the stop button and dry button simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. (After it is set, a "beep, beep" sound will be emitted.) Release this function by repeating the same procedure. Press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. Muting the buzzer sound The buzzer sound emitted during operation can be muted. The signal reception sound from remote control unit and auto seat-open operation sound are also muted set in the procedure below. Setting or canceling Press the stop button and MILD shower button simultaneously for 6 seconds or longer. (After it is set, a "beep, beep" sound is emitted.) Muting can be cancelled in the same method. 25 Press simultaneously for 6 seconds or longer. Full auto flushing start time Full auto flushing starts automatically approximately 6 seconds after the user stands up. This starting time can be changed to start after approximately 15 seconds. Change the setting to the start time you prefer using the following procedure. Press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. Switching the flushing start time Operation Press the nozzle cleaning button and wide range washing button simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. (After it is set, a "beep, beep" sound will be emitted.) Return this setting to the original setting by repeating the same procedure. Switching the dim light The dim light illuminates the floor around the base of the toilet and the inside of the toilet when a person is detected. Only the dim lamp in the bowl can be turn off in the Press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. following method. Setting or canceling Press the stop button and the PARTIAL flush button simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. A "beep, beep" sound will be emitted and the spray strength will become weaker. To return to the original setting, press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. * In places where the tap water pressure is low, the nozzles may not spray water at all with the shower strength at the weakest setting. To return the setting to the original setting, press the stop button and the FULL flush button simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. A "beep, beep" sound will be heard and the setting will return. To make the spray strength weaker, press simultaneously for 2 seconds or longer. 26 ≪ Other references ≫ Operation A slight odor may be emitted when the drying function is first used. This product is equipped with an occupied seat sensor. While this product is still new, there may be a slight odor when using the drying function. The odor will disappear as the toilet is used. This product is equipped with an occupied seat sensor that prevents the water from spraying if nobody is sitting on the toilet seat. Therefore, if you are not seated on the toilet seat, the shower washing, bidet washing, deodorizing and drying functions will not operate. A toilet seat cover or toilet seat lid cover can cause the occupied seat sensor to either remain on continuously or not go on at all, leading to faulty operation. This product may interfere with radio or television reception. If a radio or television is brought near this product, it may cause interference with reception. In this case, move the radio or television away from this product until the interference ceases. * If there is a power failure while you are seated on the toilet and the power is recovered while you are still seated there, it may be impossible for the shower washing and other operations to function. At such a time, stand up, and then sit down again after waiting 1 to 2 seconds. Slow down toilet seat and toilet seat lid. Toilet cleansers Do not use chlorinated cleansers, acid cleansers or disinfecting cleansers. If used for cleaning the plastic parts, crack will develop, resulting in accidents. See "Safety precautions" on page 6. If used for cleaning the toilet bowl (ceramic), the vaporized gases could damage this product function. What about the water pouring out near the nozzles? When you sit on the seat, before and after you perform cleaning,or when you turn on the water temperature, water pours out around the nozzles.This is due to this product's structure and not a sign of breakdown. * If water sprays under any other circumstances, or sprays constantly, close the water shutoff valve and pull the power plug from the wall outlet. Then, contact the store where you purchased the Shower Toilet. To prevent the toilet seat and toilet seat lid from being lowered forcefully, a damping mechanism is provided to lower them gradually. * If the toilet seat or toilet seat lid is closed roughly or too forcefully, this product could be damaged. Energy saving The following items are effective to help save energy. Close the toilet seat lid after use. Do not keep the temperature of the toilet seat or the warm water inordinately high, but adjust it to a level where it won't cause you discomfort. Adjust the temperature settings frequently to match the air temperature. Use the power save functions on models equipped with these functions. If you will be gone for extended periods, be sure to turn the power off while you are away. * If there is danger of freeze damage, implement the freeze prevention measures. (See page 41.) 27 Remote control unit The battery indicator will blink on the remote control unit when the batteries are nearly exhausted. Replace the batteries with new ones as soon as possible. (See page 38 concerning battery replacement.) If the remote control unit's buttons are pressed with the toilet room door open, on rare occasions, the signal may not reach this product receiver and it will fail to operate. A body sensor is built into this product which detects that a person is standing in front of the toilet or not, and opens and closes the toilet seat lid automatically. It can detect a person if they are standing immediately in front of the toilet, but if they are standing at an angle, or at a certain distance from it, it cannot detect their presence and may not open the toilet seat. Body Sensor Operation * Depending on the size of the room, the wall finish and color, the remote control unit may stop functioning before the battery indicator starts blinking. (due to the signal becoming weak) Auto seat-open Battery Indicator Condensation Due to differences in temperature between the room and the toilet, or between the front surface temperature of the toilet seat or humidity, water drops (condensation) may form on the toilet or toilet seat. To prevent condensation, please maintain adequate air circulation. In addition, if condensation forms, wipe it off with a dry cloth. * Condensation could run on the floor, causing wrinkles in or damage to the flooring. * This toilet is designed to make it difficult for condensation to form, but there may be some condensation depending on room temperature and other conditions. 28 Flushing the toilet when there is a power failure When a power failure occurs, the toilet cannot be flushed using the remote control unit. Flush the toilet using the following procedure. 1. Turn the flush lever 90°and hold it in that state. Water will flow from around the top of the toilet bowl and cause the contents of the toilet bowl to wash down to the bottom of the bowl. Operation 2. Turn the flush lever 90°and hold it in that state. Water will flow from the bottom of the toilet bowl, flushing the contents down the drain. 3. Turn the flush lever 90°and hold it in that state. 　Water will flow from around the top of the toilet bowl and begin accumulating in the bottom of the toilet bowl. For care of plastic parts, do not use any cleanser other than those which are safe to use on toilet seats (toilet cleanser, home cleanser, bleach, benzene, paint thinner, scouring powder, cresol). FORBIDDEN * These substances can cause plastic parts to crack or become marred, and can cause electric shock or fire. ≪ Daily maintenance ≫ Cleaning the toilet seat, toilet seat lid and covers (plastic panels) Dampen a soft cloth and wipe off the surfaces. If dirt is left on the surface, it will become more difficult to remove. Wipe off the surfaces frequently with a damp cloth. Wiping with a damp cloth also prevents static electricity. Static electricity attracts dust particles, and causes the surface to become dirty. * On this product, the toilet seat lid can be removed easily. (See page 35.) CAUTION Avoid wiping with dry cloth or toilet paper. * Doing so could result in scratches. Cleaning the toilet (ceramic parts) Do not use hot water. It could damage the toilet. Do not use a brush or cleanser including abrasive powder. They will lessen the effects of Pro Guard. Maintenance * While the dim light is lit, a shadow in the bottom of the toilet bowl might look like dirt. CAUTION Do not use chlorinated cleansers, acid cleansers or poisonous cleansers. * The vaporized gases could damage this product or cause breakdown. About anti-bacterial parts Anti-bacterial plastics are used in the nozzles, toilet seat, toilet seat lid, body cover and flush lever. Cleaning continues for approximately 15 seconds. * This product is equipped with an auto cleaning function which cleans the shower and bidet nozzles and the area around them automatically. 2. Cleaning with a Sponge, etc. ① 1) Press the Nozzle Cleaning button on the remote controller. * Water will spray out from around the nozzles. Maintenance 2) Press the Shower or Bidet button within 15 seconds of pressing the Nozzle Cleaning button. ② * The corresponding nozzle will extend forward. 3) Clean the nozzle using a sponge or similar tool. 4) Press the Stop button to cause the nozzle to retract. ③ Sponge CAUTION Do not pull on the nozzles unduly. * It causes them to be trouble. When you pull the nozzles by mistake, pull the power plug out of the outlet, wait about 30 seconds and insert in the power outlet. FORBIDDEN 36 Maintenance Replacing the deodorizing cartridge ≪ When toilet flushing is weak ≫ ≪ When the spray strength is weak ≫ If the toilet has been used for a long period of time and flushing begins to get weak, or the shower/bidet spray seems to be getting weak, clean the strainers using the following procedure. (As a rule, the strainers should be cleaned once every two years.) Cleaning the strainers 1. Close the open/close handle on the water shutoff valve to cut off the water supply. Replace the batteries with new ones using the following procedure. CAUTION Battery Indicator Install the batteries with the positive and negative poles facing the correct direction in accordance with the marks on the remote control unit case. Do not use old and new batteries together. Use alkaline batteries only. Replacing the remote control unit batteries 1. Lift up the remote control unit and remove it from its bracket. Rinse the filter with water and remove the dust and other matter from it. After drying the filter, install it again in the air intake vent. If this product will not be used for an extended period, such as when you are away on a trip. (The water could become dirty and cause clogging.) If this product is installed in a vacation home and that home is not being used. (In a house where nobody is living, the temperature can drop a lot lower than expected and freezing can be caused.) Draining the water and disconnecting the power 1. Turn off the water shutoff valve's open/close handle to stop the flow of water. 5. Press the MASSAGE ON/OFF switch and NOZZLE CLEANING switch simultaneously for 6 seconds or longer. This drains the residual water from the body for about 1 minutes. (See page 37.) Preventing freezing If it becomes severely cold during the winter, the water in this product could freeze and cause damage. To prevent freeze damage, perform the following measures. Leave the power plug in the outlet and do not remove it by any means. General freeze prevention measures 1.
