Introduction This document describes how to use the Download software to upgrade SNMP/Web cards via RS232 COM port. Download program can be used on Windows platforms while opening a DOS window.

Download can be installed as a standalone executable file. It can be installed into the desktop of your computer or into any folder. It is available from Solution-Pac CD-ROM or from our Web site download area at http://www.mgeups.com/download ◗ Notes : 1. From the Web site, rename the file downloaded into Download.exe.

Compliance with cards Download program is compliant with MGE following cards : Minislot card 66244 Transverse card 66074 Note : ◗ XML- Web card (66073) is not compliant with. ◗ SNMP card (66245) is compliant through the RS232 port of the UPS.
How to use it Upgrading the Network Management Card To upgrade the card firmware : 1. Last firmware release is available from the MGE UPS Web site download area : http://www.mgeups.com/download/ 2. Copy the new firmware file on the same directory from where you will launch the Download tool. The size of the downloaded file name is more than 8 characters, so you can rename it at this stage if you want to avoid the truncation of the name on the DOS session. 3. Connect the card and the PC using the RS232 serial cable that was packaged with your Network Management card. 4. Turn the Network Management card DIP switch 1 to On to enable download. 5. Reset the Network Management card with the Reset button on front panel : On the Network Management Transverse card, the green Led is rapidly flashing. On the Network Management Minislot card, the orange Led is rapidly flashing. 6. Open a DOS session, go to the download directory. 7. Enter the command to download the firmware into the card : download –px 340036~1.bin where : x is port number used on the PC (Ex :-p1 port COM1) 340036~1.bin is the firmware to download. Check the release of the Download Utility (AA or later). 8. Confirm you want to download and wait for the download complete. 9. Turn back the Network Management card DIP switch 1 to Off. 10. Reset the Network Management card with the Reset button on front panel.
