VISION EASY-SET™
Four easy steps to get up and running.
V40-10HDMI HD MODULATOR QUICK – START – GUIDE
The EASY-SET system has four “profiles” preloaded into the modulator with all the necessary transport stream and LCN setting preprogrammed. Just set the output channel number, set the RF level and choose the required profile and the V40-10HD is ready to view. For customised settings please use the software and USB lead with your PC.
1. CONNECT Connect the HDMI cable and RF out before connecting the power supply. After powering, wait 20-30 seconds to initialize.
Channel Mode: with lock L.E.Ds (A) illuminated
Profile Mode: Profile 1 with “Profile” LED illuminated
2. CONFIGURE If there are two red dots (A) between the channel number digits in the L.E.D display, the modulator button interface is locked. To unlock the button interface, press and hold the “UP and “DOWN” buttons (B) simultaneously until the red dots are extinguished. (Typically 10 secs.) The modulator will now be in Channel mode and the “Channel LED” (C) should be illuminated. (If not, press the “Channel/Profile” button (D) to select channel mode). Successive pressing of the “Channel/Profile” button will toggle between the two modes. Use the “Up/Down” buttons (B) to select the required RF output channel. Wait 20-30 seconds for the modulator to lock which is indicated by the static channel numbers with the two red LED dots (A). The green “Lock” LED (C) will illuminate when the input is active. 3. LEVEL The modulator has a digital attenuator embedded in the software for 0dB, -10dB and -25dB attenuation from the normal 90dBµV maximum output. Keep pressing the “Profile / Channel” button until the “Attenuator” L.E.D is illuminated. Then press the “Up”/”Down” keys until the desired output level is selected. Normally for connections directly to a TV, the -25dB attenuation is required. Do not overload the input of the connected device or reception may fail. The -10dB setting is designed for connection into an MATV amplifier in a medium sized distribution system and 0dB where no amplifier is connected but there are several TVs supplied by the modulator. 4. MULTI-MODULATOR PROFILES For multiple modulators in a network, use the Profile mode. Select the Profile number starting with Profile 1 for the first modulator, Profile 2 for the second modulator and so on. Then set the RF channel and RF level for each modulator - as described above. To change the Profile, ensure the button interface is not locked. Press the “Channel” / “Profile” button (D). The “Profile” LED (C) will illuminate when the Profile mode is entered. Use the “UP and “DOWN” buttons (B) to select the required Profile. There is a detailed handbook in .PDF format on the CDROM. The latest version of the handbook is available as a free download on www.vision-products.co.uk. To access advanced programming features use a PC with USB port and the software provided on the CDROM. This will enable all of the modulator parameters to be customised. E.G.
