Quick Guide Frequently Asked Questions
My DigiTek intermittently comes up with false alarms. What is the problem? This symptom is most commonly attributed to incorrect set up of the sensitivity menu. There must be some trial and error tests run to simulate alarms in order to achieve optimum performance. How can I check my settings for accuracy in live mode? Press and hold the desired camera button until the screen displays: S/L:, T:, ACT. These represent your settings during live use. Can I loop a camera through the DigiTek without affecting my motion detection? Yes. Looped cameras are not affected at all. In fact, it is beneficial because the DigiTek provides video loss detection. Can both A & B monitor outputs be used for motion detection alarms? Only Monitor A can be used for alarms. Monitor B is a nonalarm monitor for camera selection and sequencing only. While sequencing cameras on the monitors, the images roll from one to the next before locking in. What is the problem? The DigiTek is an analog switcher and does not digitize the video. Therefore, the cameras should be vertically phased to one another in order to achieve roll free switching. Refer to the camera installation manual. When I connect a camera to the DigiTek and loop that signal to another device, will the Time/Date/Titling information be overlaid on the video? No. The Time/Date/Titling information is generated by the DigiTek and only appears on the monitor outputs. A loop out signal is a continuation of the input signal. Be sure that all inputs are terminated at the DigiTek or at the final device in the loop. I have fed a signal from the DigiTek to a VCR but do not see a “termination” switch or plug on the VCR. How do I terminate the signal? All VCRs automatically terminate the signal fed to them. No termination switch or connector is necessary.
For complete instructions, see Instruction Manual X865.
