Vaporella Advanced System ENGLISH Dear Customer, thank you for the confidence you have placed in Polti buying this product. Vaporella Advanced System is an ironing system designed for domestic use; its ironing board is provided with a heated suction and blowing surface in order to obtain at home professional ironing results. Vaporella allows you to achieve perfect ironing, saving time and effort. With professional iron it is not necessary to press or iron over repeatedly but just let the iron slide gently over the fabric. Due to its pressure, Vaporella’s steam penetrates into the fibres of the fabric clearing any creases at its first pass. The steam power is so strong that you can even iron more than one side of a fabric at a time (making ironing sheets for example many times faster) The ironing board has a sturdy and solid metal structure, an easy height adjustment device and a broad working surface, providing the perfect complement to the irons powerful steam. The heating function dries the fabrics and makes the ironing easier, faster and effortless. The suction keeps the fabric sticked to the board, preventing the formation of creases which rise up easily with other ironing boards. The airing function inflate delicate fabrics so that it is possible to iron over with steam power only. Vaporella Advanced System helps you to work safely. This product conforms with very strict regulations. Moreover, Vaporella is easy to use and has an unlimited operating time. Please read these usage instruction carefully before using this product, we hope you enjoy using your Vaporella! This unit conforms with EC-directives 89/336 as amended by 93/68 (EMC) and 73/23 as amended by 93/68 (low voltage). I M P O R TA N T Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested. Vaporella may still contain some water in its tank. Vaporella Advanced System ENGLISH P R E PA R AT I O N F O R U S E 1a. Rest the board on the floor. 2a. To open the ironing board, just pull the ironing surface upwards keeping a foot on Vaporella side leg of the board until locking takes place (fig. A). To adjust height, unfasten the lever (O) and move the board upwards or downwards. NOTE: Because of the weight of the ironing surface, during closing and height adjustment hold the board with both hands. 3a. Insert the flex holder (M) in its location (fig. 1). 4a. Place the cable (iron power supply - steam tube) (E) in its support (fig. 2). 5a. Unscrew the tank cap (A) and fill the tank with approx. 800 cc. water, preventing overflowing, then screw the cap on again. Water by its nature contains magnesium and mineral salts which form into limescale. To avoid this residue causing problems to your unit, we recommend that you always use this special jug KalFilter with anti-limescale filter, which is provided with your appliance thanks to its special filter made up with a mixture of two resins. This jug, is the ideal solution to the problem of limescale allowing you to change water straight from the tap into water that is demineralized and silicon-free. In this way you can prevent the incrustations and protect the components of your unit. Constant use of the jug extends the life to your appliance and you will always have at your disposal a clean jet of steam To use the jug correctly, please read carefully the instructions provided with this item. 6a. Connect the power supply cable (D) into an earthed power supply of the correct voltage. 7a. Press the main switch (B); the steam pressure indicator (K) and the “iron heating” indicator light (J1) will light up (fig. 4). 8a. To operate the board, turn the main switch (C) on. In this way the board heater will start operation. Wait a few minutes to allow the heater to reach working temperature. It is now possible to activate blowing and suction features: Fig. A Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Fig. 3 ENGLISH Vaporella Advanced System 9a. BLOWING: By pushing the function switch (P) on posi- Fig. 4 tion (I), the board will allow you to swell the clothes with a “hot blow”, in order to be able to gently skim with the iron the most delicate clothes, ironing them with steam only. 10a.SUCTION: By pushing the function switch (P) on position (II), the board will hold the clothes to the surface and eliminate the residual humidity. Note: to avoid condensation inside the ironing board we recommend you always use the suction function while steam ironing. The sound emitted on switching on your appliance and periodically during use, is due to the water refilling system and is quite normal. During use you may hear some gurgling due to the backflow of hot water into the tank saving energy (water preheating in the tank). This is quite normal and you can carry on ironing. To reduce the gurgling we recommend to replenish before the water has been used up. At first steam request, or about 2 minutes after the last request, you will experince a delay in steam delivery because steam inside the heat exchanger is excessively rarefied. This is normal and no longer happens once the equipment has been used a number of times. Press the steam release switch (H) for some seconds till steam is released. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Fig. 5 STEAM IRONING 1b. Set the iron temperature to the “COTTON - LINEN” steam position (fig. 5), by turning the knob (G). All types of fabric can be ironed at this temperature. 2b. Wait for the steam pressure indicator light (K) and the “iron heating” indicator light (J1) to switch off (about 3 minutes). Push button (H) on the iron to release bursts of steam from the holes on the soleplate. Release the button and the steam will stop (fig. 6). NOTE: during initial operation of the iron, a few drops of water mixed with steam may come out of the soleplate until the temperature stabilises. It is advisable to direct the first jets of steam onto an old cloth until a uniform stable jet of steam is obtained. Fig. 6 ➠ Vaporella Advanced System Fig. 7 ➠ 3b. In order to have a continuous steam jet, move the button (J) forwards. Steam will keep on coming out, even releasing the button (H). To interrupt the outlet, move the button (J) backwards (fig. 7). ENGLISH ➠ DRY IRONING 1c. For DRY ironing (without steam), adjust the temperature by turning the knob (G), setting it to the temperature required for the fabric, as shown on the rotating indicator. When dry ironing, be careful NOT TO PRESS THE STEAM RELEASE BUTTON (H) on top of the iron, otherwise water may leak from the soleplate of the iron. F I L L I N G T H E TA N K It is necessary to refill the feeder tank with water before it becomes empty. If no steam is released when requested, and at the same time a higher-pitched noise is heard from the pump, this signifies that the tank is out of water. To keep on working, simply restore the water level in the feeder tank as described in the “Preparation for use” paragraph. Fig. 8 HOW TO CLOSE THE MACHINE NOTE: Before putting the board away, keep the board heater (C) on for a few minutes to dry any ironing condensation. 1d. Turn off switches (B-C-P). 2d. Disconnect the supply plug. Wind the power supply cable (D) around its support (Q). 3d. Pull the opening lever (O) upwards and guide the board (N) downwards. NOTE: Because of the weight of the ironing surface, during closing and height adjustment hold the board with both hands. 4d. To put away the ironing board vertically closed, it is suggested to put the iron on its rest (F) securing it with the ironing fixing belt (V), fastened to the support device (fig. 8). 5d. The appliance stands vertically (fig. 9).
