VBrick® Lync Webcast Solution Live Lync Webcasting Extends Collaboration to Thousands VBrick® Lync Webcast is a live video streaming solution that lets organizations use their existing Microsoft Lync 2013 installations to deliver high-quality live webcasts to tens of thousands of viewers originating from the Microsoft Lync desktop client. Organizations can leverage their existing investments in Microsoft Lync to deliver live webcasts with up to five presenters to employee audiences of virtually any size and at any location. Presenters simply set up a Lync meeting, add VBrick to the session, and VBrick does the rest – transcoding, transrating and routing video streams over the VBrick enterprise-wide distribution network so they are delivered – in the right format and data rate – in the most bandwidth-efficient way to viewers at the edge of the network. Presenters and viewers use the Lync workflows, clients, permission and features – including presence and chat – that they are already familiar with to share and experience HD quality webcasts on their desktops. While end users see only the Microsoft Lync workflow they know, the VBrick Lync Webcast solution is working behind the scenes to authenticate users, associate permissions, and ensure that viewers receive the live stream through a network of centrally managed VBrick® Distributed Media Engines (DME). The DME network ensures that even high definition video streams are delivered to tens of thousands of viewers without negatively impacting production applications on the customer’s wide area network. Presenters can use their desktop webcams or bring in a high quality video camera for executive-caliber webcasts. The VBrick Lync Webcast solution delivers video and desktop screen sharing, like any other Lync session, and works by adding in a DME as a member to the session. From there, VBrick Lync Webcast integrates with the company’s LDAP/Active Directory server to validate users and provide them access to the video stream.
