DO NOT drop the unit or subject it to heavy impact. The unit contains glass parts which may break or crack.

INTRODUCTION •
The names and functions of the VCP-012 front panel are as follows: 1.
Reverse Button - To rewind the tape or to start a reverse visual search.

Play Button - To start playback

Fast Forward - To fast-forward the tape or to start a forward visual search
5.
Stop Button - To stop the tape.
6.
Pause/Still Button - To temporarily stop the tape during playback or a recording.
7.
Eject Button - To eject a cassette from the unit.

PLAYING BACK A TAPE 1.
Insert a cassette into the tape slot with the label side toward the front and the window side facing upward. The VCP will accept the tape and pull it into the unit.
2.
Press the PLAY button to start playback. (Press the playback at any time. Press the PLAY button to resume)
3.
To fast forward the tape, press the FF button while in the stop mode. The tape will advance. (No video will be seen during Fast-Forward mode)
4.
To rewind the tape, press the REW button.while in the stop mode. The tape will rewind. (No video will be seen during Rewind mode)
5.
To eject the tape, press the EJECT button while in the stop mode. The video cassette will be “ejected” from the unit.

To pause the screen during playback, press the normal playback, press the PLAY button.)

To activate a picture search, press and hold the FF or REW button during playback mode. The tape will run at approximately five times the normal speed. Some picture interference may be notices during picture search. To resume normal playback, release the button.
8.
To freeze a frame, press PAUSE while in playback mode. The picture will remain still. To resume normal playback, press the PAUSE button again. After approximately five minutes, the unit will automatically return to normal playback.
9.
To advance a frame, press PAUSE to enter the still picture mode. Press PLAY and the picture advances one frame each time you press the button. To resume normal playback, press PAUSE.

CONVENIENT FUNCTIONS •
Automatic Power On – When a cassette tape is inserted, the unit automatically turns on.
•
Automatic Playback – When a cassette without an erasure prevention tab is inserted, playback begins automatically.
•
Automatic Rewind/Eject/Power Off – When the end of a tape is reached during a recording, playback, fast-forward, or forward visual search, the tape is automatically rewound to beginning and ejected. Then the power is turned off.
•
Power Off Eject – If the EJECT button is pressed when the power is off, the power turns on, the cassette is ejected, and the power turns off again.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM
CAUSE
SOLUTION
No Power. Picture is unclear
Faulty wiring Video heads may be dirty.
Connect to 28 VDC. Use a commercial head cleaner.
Buttons not operating
Video output may not be compatible with viewing device. Moisture may have condensed inside the unit. Power glitch caused unit to deactivate.
Video converter may be required. Contact AI for assistance. Allow unit to warm to room temperature and moisture has evaporated. Remove tape and reinsert.
Unit will not play after power glitch.
